Chapter 34 – Floor 4, Part IV: When Shadows March

The fog came in waves.

It wasn't just mist—it was alive, crawling with mana particles that whispered forgotten names. The air turned heavy, vision blurred, and even soul weapons flickered uneasily.

Blackhunt stood at the gate of Stronghold #7 as the Bloodsmoke Fog swallowed the horizon.

📢 [System Alert: You are now inside an Active Mutation Zone.]

☠️ Visibility reduced to 30%.

📈 Random skill buffs and nerfs activated.

⚔️ Ambush frequency increased.

💀 Stronghold borders may shift.

"Perfect," Kaido muttered. "Just what we needed. Fog and cursed weather."

Ankit looked up at the sky, which now glowed a dull blood-red behind the mist. "This isn't a battle anymore. This is a hunt."

Toni unfurled a tactical scroll, the glowing runes now flickering due to interference. "We strike before they do. The enemy thinks the fog is their cover. But it's also ours."

🐺 Operation: Black March

The plan was simple in theory. Devastating in execution.

Split into three tactical units, Blackhunt would launch a silent offensive on three enemy-controlled mana wells surrounding Stronghold #7. These wells enhanced floor-based evolution and were vital to sustain defenses.

Team One: Ankit, Vikram, Asha – Strike & Assassinate

Team Two: Toni, Riya, Raghav – Intercept & Control

Team Three: Raunak, Sana, Kaido – Heavy Pressure & Disruption

Each team would march under Bloodsmoke.

🌫️ Team One – The Killing Mist

Vikram moved like a wraith, slipping through mana fissures in the fog. Asha weaved illusions to distort enemy movement. Ankit led at the center, blades sheathed until the exact moment of contact.

The target: a mana well held by rogue climbers from the Fanged Mirage, known for their use of traps and fear techniques.

A masked enemy lunged from the fog—Ankit sidestepped and, with a fluid motion, sliced his throat before the cry even left his lips.

[Enemy Defeated. Proficiency increased.]

[Soul Weapon Aura: Stabilized.]

"One down," Ankit whispered. "More will follow."

⚔️ Team Two – The Control Squad

Toni fired an arrow etched with runes into the air. It split into five spectral shafts mid-flight, taking out three hidden snipers before they saw him.

Riya froze the ground under their feet. Raghav shielded them from a sudden detonation.

"Focus!" Toni called. "We hold this ground till Ankit clears the southern point!"

This was his battlefield.

And every move was calculated.

💣 Team Three – The Disruptors

Kaido hurled a mana-charge grenade into the enemy's storage depot. The resulting explosion lit the fog like a sunrise.

Sana dashed in, blade glowing green as she healed Raunak mid-charge. He bulldozed through a defensive line like a hammer through paper.

"This one's for our lost supplies!" he roared, smashing two opponents into the ground.

🌌 Aftermath – The Mist Begins to Clear

By the end of the operation, two mana wells were captured, one burned, and Blackhunt had gone from hunted to hunters.

⚠️ Warning: Blood Contract Rivals have been alerted

Toni regrouped with Ankit at the broken ruins of Mana Well #6.

"We've provoked half the floor," he said quietly.

Ankit sheathed his blades. "Good."

"...Good?"

Ankit looked toward the red mist thinning in the distance. "Let them come. Let them test what we've built."

🌑 Elsewhere – An Enemy Awakens

Inside a black cathedral deeper in Floor 4, a man awoke from meditation.

His soul weapon—a serpent chain-sword—hissed at his side.

[Blood Contract Alert: Target – Blackhunt (Guild Master: Ankit Kumar)]

[Permission to Execute – Granted.]

The man smiled.

"It's time."
