Did I Just Choosed Who I Like More!?

As I looked down from the highest point of the roller coaster, my heart pounded—stronger and stronger with every second—until…

We suddenly dropped.

The wind howled past my ears as the cart plunged at high speed. Spirals twisted us from right to left, the world around me blurring into a whirl of color and motion.

Yet even with my heart thumping like a drum in my chest, I felt strangely at peace.

Because beside me, Alisha was laughing.

Her face lit up, eyes sparkling with pure joy.

Just seeing her like that… calmed me.

As if her happiness was enough to drown out my fear.

After the ride, we tried more attractions—ferris wheel, bumper cars, even that ridiculous spinning teacup. Each moment passed with laughter and shared smiles.

Then, as we took a break, Marianne walked up to us with a beaming grin.

"Alisha, do you wanna eat lunch with me and Alfred at our house? I'm a good cook!"

Her eyes sparkled with hope as she looked at Alisha.

"Oh… if it's fine with both of you, I'll go," Alisha replied softly.

As soon as she agreed, Marianne squealed and wrapped Alisha in a tight hug.

"Yeah! Thank you! I always wanted another girl in our house!" she exclaimed, clinging to Alisha like they were long-lost sisters.

I watched the two of them with a strange warmth rising in my chest.

For a moment, I got lost in that simple joy—how beautiful it was to see them laugh together like family.

But then—

"Alfred! Is that you?!"

A voice pulled me out of my thoughts.

I turned toward it, and there she was.

Tall, beautiful, and dressed in a stylish outfit that caught everyone's attention.

She waved at me with a bright smile—it was Angel, my childhood friend.

I walked over quickly, pulling her into a brief hug before stepping back, still surprised.

"Hey! When did you get back? Are you here on vacation or…?"

She looked at me with eyes that still held that same spark I remembered.

"I'm here for good now," she said, a bit shyly. "My father finally agreed to let me live here since there's a good university nearby. And… I have people here I want to be close to."

She glanced away, cheeks faintly red.

"Haha, why are you acting shy? We're just friends, right?" I teased with a grin.

"Yeah…"

She smiled, but her voice carried a faint note of disappointment.

"We're just friends."

Before I could say more, Marianne and Alisha approached.

"Angel! You're back? Long time no see!" Marianne said with a wide smile as she pulled Angel into a hug.

"Yeah, it's been eight years!" Angel replied, returning the hug. "But don't worry—I'm staying at least until college."

The scene felt… wholesome.

Just like when Marianne hugged Alisha earlier.

But this time… the air was different.

There was something heavy behind the warmth.

I glanced at Alisha.

She stood quietly to the side, hands clenched tightly.

Her eyes… they weren't smiling anymore.

She looked like she didn't belong.

And I knew, right then, if I didn't step in—things would change.

I gently reached out and took her hand.

Without a word, I guided her beside me, facing Angel.

"Um, Angel… this is Alisha. My classmate."

I let go of Alisha's hand once they were close.

Angel turned to her, eyes widening slightly in surprise before smiling.

"Oh, she's pretty! Nice to meet you!" she said warmly.

Alisha, who'd tensed at first, slowly relaxed as she saw Angel's genuine smile.

"Nice to meet you too," she replied.

"So what brings you to the amusement park?" Marianne asked, breaking the tension.

"Oh, nothing special. I saw it while passing by. It wasn't here back then, so I came in out of curiosity," Angel replied.

"Is your house near here?" Marianne asked again.

"Yeah, it's not far. Wanna hang out at my place? Maybe have lunch together?" Angel asked, eyes filled with hope.

I caught Marianne glance at me. A silent signal.

Understanding immediately, I stepped forward.

"Sorry, Angel. We already have plans—with Alisha."

Angel blinked.

For a moment, she looked stunned.

Then she smiled… but her eyes gave her away.

"Oh… okay. I better head home then. Got some stuff to do anyway," she said quickly before turning and walking away.

We watched her disappear into the crowd.

Marianne leaned closer and whispered,

"Alfred… she's upset."

I nodded slightly, eyes drifting toward Alisha, who now looked cheerful again—completely unaware of the quiet storm we'd just avoided.

"We didn't have a choice," I whispered back.

As I said to my my self "Did I just choosed Alisha, who I just met yesterday over Angel who was with me during my childhood days?".
