Chapter 44: The Bold Get Fed, the Timid Starve

Haruno's plan was clever, summoning Yuki home to act as her eyes. It worked remarkably well in the short term.

However, Haruno's strategy had a glaring flaw: Yuki was unaware of Roland's relationship with their mother.

Unless Haruno intended to reveal the truth to her sister, seize the moral high ground, and join forces to catch the "cheater," why would Yuki willingly obey her?

Rather than take orders from someone who had rudely awakened her from a pleasant dream in the middle of the night, she'd much rather cover for her... ahem, for her childhood friend.

So, upon seeing Roland's note taped to the bedroom door, Yuki immediately sided with him.

Roland was already working so hard for this family even before officially joining it. What harm could come from letting him enjoy a night of gaming?

Yuki couldn't stand watching any longer and promptly switched allegiances to Roland's side.
