Volume 1, Chapter 174: Did I Let You Go?

Tu Shan Yue snorted coldly, her eyes instantly misting over white. She slashed her sword.

Icy寒气 (cold air) surged from the blade, forming a blizzard that crashed into the oncoming inferno. The storm froze everything in its path, dropping the temperature and summoning flurries, as if they'd been thrust into a world of ice and snow.

This strike, steeped in Ice Sword Intent, was lethally sharp—peers stood no chance against her.

Boom!

Elder Huang's spear, charged with surging crimson flames, annihilated her Ice Intent in one blow, releasing billows of white mist that spread outward.

Tu Shan Yue staggered back, a faint flush blooming on her icy skin.

Elder Huang chuckled. "Tu Shan Yue, even at Myriad Manifestation Realm Level 9, you're still an ant before me. Come quietly."

As he spoke, he stepped forward, his spear erupting with scarlet flames that converged into a diamond-shaped gem of red light. From the gem burst hundreds of crimson rays, merging into a roaring river of destruction that engulfed her.

Tu Shan Yue's face changed. Her eyes blazed white, and frost rose behind her, forming a vivid white fox phantom. With the phantom's blessing, her aura soared as she swung at the red tide. Icy intent surged forth as a blizzard.

"Eh! That's an ancestral totem!" Lin Yu gasped at the fox phantom. Only a few demon warriors could awaken such totems, which boosted strength but left them weakened afterward. This was her last resort.

Bang!

The red tide proved unstoppable, shattering her blizzard. Crimson rays pierced her ice barrier, slashing bloody wounds across her body.

Tu Shan Yue looked at Elder Huang in dismay—even at Level 9 with her totem, she couldn't prevail.

"Tu Shan Yue, reveal your true form and let me take you!" Elder Huang laughed, reaching for her. Terror威压 (pressure) crashed down like a mountain.

She grunted, enveloped in misty white light. When it faded, a bloodied white fox cowered on the ground, staring in horror at the descending hand.

Boom!

A figure dropped from the sky, blocking Elder Huang and the fox.

"Who dares interfere?" Elder Huang roared, then froze at the sight of the来人 (comer). "It's you... What do you want? This doesn't concern you!"

"This little fox is my pet. Did you ask the owner before trying to take her?" Lin Yu smiled, scooping up the trembling fox, wiping her blood, and feeding her a pill.

Tu Shan Yue shot him a幽怨的 (resentful) look. *How despicable—claiming to be my master while I'm injured!* But she nuzzled into his arms. *Fine, since he saved me, I'll let it slide.*

"Your pet? Do you know who she is?" Elder Huang demanded, face铁青 (livid).

"Ask her if you doubt me." Lin Yu looked at the fox softly. "Little fox, are you my pet? If not, I can't save you."

She squirmed, then chirped softly in agreement.

"Good girl." Lin Yu stroked her, turning to Elder Huang. "You heard her. Any objections?"

Elder Huang gritted his teeth. "I know you're strong, but our young master wants her. Blocking us means war with Fumeng Sacred Mountain!"

Tu Shan Yue glanced at Lin Yu, worried. *He must be powerful, but can he stand against a sacred mountain?*

Lin Yu laughed. "You tried stealing my pet, yet I'm the enemy? So be it—this fox stayed with me in Moonlight Palace. I won't lose her."

As he spoke, terrifying pressure surged from him like a tide. Even Elder Huang, a Void Transformation Realm Level 1, staggered back under the威压.

"Void Transformation Realm? He's a Void Transformation Realm warrior?" Tu Shan Yue gaped from Lin Yu's arms.

"You... advanced to Void Transformation Realm so quickly?" Elder Huang was equally astonished.

Lin Yu quoted her earlier words: "Spirit Mountain breeds miracles. My advancement is no surprise."

"Fine, I can't defeat you. But I'll report this to our young master. When sacred mountain experts come, we'll see if you can still protect her. Farewell!" Elder Huang snapped, signaling the black-robed warriors to leave.

"Wait—did I let you go?"

Lin Yu's eyes chilled. "You all should stay in Spirit Mountain... permanently."
