Bomified

Chapter 20 – Faye's POV

All I remember was darkness.

Then... light, barely creeping in as I opened my eyes. Everything felt cramped. Walls all around me. Wait—was I... in a closet?

Outside, voices floated in.

Regis: "Bom needs to train her to control the transformations—soon."

Hector: "That's if he ever comes back."

Regis: "He will. I mean... he's immortal. And powerful."

Hector: "Sir, even immortals have weak points. Chop off their head—bye-bye forever."

Regis (shouting): "Yeah, yeah, I know!"

Hector: "Do you think they'll all return?"

Regis: "At worst, they sacrifice Bob. Acceptable loss."

Hector (chuckling a little ): "Poor Bob... I hope they all come back safe."

Regis: nods

I banged on the door. "HELLO? Can someone open this or is this my new house now?!"

Regis: "Hector, let her out."

Hector: "Is that really Faye?"

Regis: "What do you think? She's literally yelling at us."

The door flew open.

Me: "How long was I... like that?"

Hector: "An hour? or two ."

Regis: "Mostly unconscious though."

Me: "I hate this..."

Regis: "Bom will help. He's the only one who can."

I nodded. He really was the only one who understood this monster mess.

Me: "Where are they? Did they come back?"

Regis: "Not ye—"

The door burst open.

It was like a slow-motion hero entrance.

Bom strutted in holding the black flower like a divine relic in one hand, and casually flipping his hair with the other like he was auditioning for 'Main Character of the Year.'

To his right: Clavis, walking like a stone-cold model.

And then Bob. Walking weirdly. Blinking and blowing kisses to an imaginary crowd like he had fans screaming his name.

Zera's knight: "You found it?! Doctor Bom, you're incredible!"

Bom: "I know." wink

Regis: "Just give her the medicine already!"

Hector: "Was it dangerous?"

Bob (chest puffed): "Not at all! We killed them all. I even jumped off a tree and sliced a giant octopus!"

Clavis (eye roll): "And now he's going to talk about it for the rest of the year."

Bom (chuckling): "Bring me milk and honey."

Regis (shouting): "NOW?!"

Bom: "It's for the medicine, idiot. And—Zera's knight—Antonio? Anthony? forgot your name Whatever. Is the feast ready? And my statue?"

Zera's knight: "The feast is being prepared, sir Bom. But the statue artist needs you to pose first."

Bob: "We want statues too! Me and Clavis!"

Clavis: "For once, he's not wrong. We nearly died too."

Regis (groaning): "Great. Even Clavis is getting... Bomified. Hector, please, stay sane."

Hector: salutes "My loyalty is with you, my king."

Bom: "Fine! Get them statues too."

Zera's knight nodded and ran off to fetch the ingredients.

Minutes later, he returned with milk and honey. Bom carefully mixed in the black flower and fed it to Queen Zera. Slowly, her body calmed. The ugly blue veins faded.

Bom: "She's stable. Might take a few hours for full recovery, but she'll be okay."

Zera's knight burst into happy tears and hugged Bom like he'd just saved the world.

Bom (exhausted): "Why did I ever allow hugs?! Now everyone thinks they can hug me!"

The knight stepped back. Awkwardly.

I stepped forward. "Bom... thank you. I was scared. I don't understand what's happening to me."

He looked at me, gently placing his hands on my shoulders.

Bom: "Faye, don't apologize. You'll learn. You're not alone in this. Because we're—" He looked at Bob.

Bob (proud): "Food lovers!"

Clavis (facepalming): "Friends. He meant FRIENDS, Bob."

Bob: "Oh. Right. That."

I started laughing. Loudly.

Because somehow... this chaotic, mismatched team? We really did feel like a family.
