Chapter 26: Bom's POV
Klapitia.
Cold. Icy. Emotionally depressing even from ten miles away.
Snow covered everything like a frosted corpse, and the air? Thick with tension.
No monsters here, at least. Just the people. And guess what? They're worse. Especially since they hate Regisialand—and guess who we brought with us?
King Regis himself. Yeah, fantastic planning.
But you want to know what really broke me?
No chicken.
None. Zero. Nada. How am I supposed to survive this kingdom if it doesn't serve chicken?
Forget dying in battle—this place is going to starve my soul.
We hadn't been in Klapitia for more than ten minutes before—
WHOOSH.
Arrows.
Flying from every direction. Hector was so done he screamed into the snow. "AGAIN?!"
I felt the same. Being immortal doesn't mean I don't need rest! Do people think I'm running on god-mode forever?
They halted the carriage, and we all jumped out.
Regis: "They followed us from Daggermire?"
Clavis: "No, my king. These… feel different."
Then they showed up.
Tall figures cloaked in icy blue armor, silent and deadly. Definitely Klapitia's elite knights.
I squinted. "Yup. These guys belong to Klapitia's royalty."
Regis: "They're already here for me?" He stepped forward, sword in hand. Brave, I'll give him that.
Clavis and Hector moved in front of him instantly, a wall of steel.
Faye and Bob stayed back.
Then one of the icy knights whispered—loud enough for us to hear:
"She looks just like her…"
"It's really her…"
"Take her. Now."
"Her?" There's only one "her" here—Faye.
Regis: "Protect Faye! Now!"
Faye looked like she was going to collapse. "M-Me? Why me?!"
We didn't have time to answer. Klapitia's knights charged.
Hector and Clavis were in motion—flashes of silver in the snowstorm, clashing blades with cold precision.
Regis moved like a man possessed, cutting through one knight after another.
Me? I lit the sky with red thunder, blasting a row of attackers backward like bowling pins.
But they just kept coming.
Faye hid inside the carriage.
Bob?
Bob?!
Wait—
Where's Bob?!
Then—
"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!"
A scream. High-pitched. Dramatic. Terrified.
It echoed through the mountains like a dying opera singer.
We all froze. Was that… Faye?
We turned toward the carriage—nope, she's still there, peeking out, completely confused.
Then we turned the other way—
And there it was.
Bob.
Being dragged.
By four Klapitia knights.
Kicking. Flailing. Screaming like the kingdom owed him a refund.
They were shoving him into their carriage.
Regis: "It's just Bob."
Hector: "Yeah… he'll be fine."
Me & Clavis: "NO HE WON'T."
We tried to run after him, but the ice knights blocked our path.
The last thing we heard from Bob, echoing through the snowy woods:
"I'M TOO YOUNG AND TOO BEAUTIFUL TO DIEEEE!! AHHHHH!"
And he was gone.
