Chapter 3592: Unexpected Discovery
A green vine followed, suddenly coiling around Yan Qi's body and dragging him back. Yan Qi roared in frustration, his body instantly inflating as if pumped with air. He forcefully broke free from the vine wrapped around him and roared back at the cliff. Stones immediately tumbled down the cliff.
Mo Lian stood at the bottom of the valley, dodging the falling rocks with a few agile leaps. He sprang onto the cliff, quickly reaching Yan Qi's side. By this time, Yan Qi had transformed back into his human form and, puffing out his cheeks, ran to him, exclaiming, "Master, Master! There's a hole over there, and there's a monster in the hole!"
Mo Lian looked at the little fellow with a wry smile, reaching out to pat his head. "Just now, I saw a green vine."
As he spoke, Mo Lian felt a movement in his wrist. A small, spherical tree branch that had been tucked into his sleeve suddenly shot out. Its upper half swayed slightly in mid-air, as if sensing something. Mo Lian subtly glanced at the branch, a thought sparking in his mind.
The vine hovered in mid-air for less than a few seconds before suddenly darting towards the cliff ahead. The green streak of light vanished into a cave on the cliff face. The cave entrance was heavily obscured by numerous mountain vines and grasses; if one didn't look carefully, it would be impossible to discover it.
Mo Lian immediately recalled Little Seven and, alone, swiftly entered the cave, pursuing the small tree's branch with lightning speed. He now sensed that, judging by the tree's appearance, there was likely a fragment of its tree seed within this cave. If so, he had to retrieve it.
The cave wasn't large, only about ten meters deep, and was elongated with very narrow crevices on both sides of the rock walls. As he darted inside, his surroundings darkened, and from the depths of the long, narrow cave, faint sounds of struggle could be heard.
Mo Lian pursued them, launching three night-luminescent pearls from his hand, embedding them into the cave walls. The soft glow immediately illuminated the depths of the cave with shifting light and shadows.
He saw a thick mass of tree vines coiled along the inner wall of the cave. The vines were as thick as an elephant's leg, hundreds, even thousands of branches tangled together chaotically, resembling a hornet's nest.
Mo Lian extended a finger, tentatively releasing a wisp of black flame. However, before the black flame could spread, he immediately retracted it and stepped towards the inner wall.
At this moment, the half-vine branch taken from the main body of the little tree sphere was swaying back and forth in front of the mass of tree vines. Occasionally, it would even strike the vines in front of it. If the little tree sphere could transform into human form at this moment, it would undoubtedly have a stern, lecturing expression.
"How is it?" Mo Lian didn't know why he was talking to a mere vine...
The branch shook its head, then suddenly lifted its front half and shot forward to strike the large cluster of vines hanging on the inner wall. It looked as if it was communicating with the other party, but its methods were as full of little violent tendencies as ever.
Mo Lian watched the "communication" between the vines, speechless, feeling completely unable to intervene. So he looked around, surveying the long, narrow cave. Below the tangled mass of vines, there seemed to be many shimmering objects.
