Chapter 3885: So It Was Them
The adventurers in front of the building nearly collapsed to the ground.
Hundreds of thousands of beasts attacking?
Not to mention in such a small, broken base, even in a large fortification outside, within a city with formidable combat power, it would be impossible to withstand a million-strong beast horde.
They were doomed! Everyone's faces showed a mixture of bewilderment and grief.
Some people frequently came to the Phoenix Wood Forest for training, but this was the first time they had encountered such a situation. Their faces were all filled with despair.
Under such an impact, it was unlikely anyone would survive.
"Why don't we try to leave the Phoenix Wood Forest using flying spirit tools?" someone weakly suggested.
"Don't be ridiculous! Those Harpies can all fly, and their attack power is incredibly strong. A flying spirit tool would be knocked down by just two of their punches."
"Then, everyone pool their teleportation talismans and see if we can teleport some people out to seek help?"
"A Profound-grade Teleportation Talisman can only teleport twenty li. Right now, hundreds of thousands of beasts have surrounded us. Within a thousand li, the beasts stretch endlessly. Are you sure your teleportation won't send you directly into the middle of the beast horde??"
"Then what do you suggest?" Having his ideas repeatedly rejected, the man also grew angry. "Well, then, you come up with an idea!"
"Everyone, calm down first," Duan Yue said with a smiling interruption. "Excuse me, what are these Harpies?"
Beauty conquers all. Seeing his handsome and pleasing smile, people's tone and attitude towards him inexplicably softened.
"This young master might not know, but those Harpies are the monsters we encountered in the forest."
"Yes, yes, they look extremely bizarre. A fist-sized head on a slender neck, but a very large eagle body behind it."
"My goodness, they're truly super monsters, incredibly swift in both strength and speed!"
"Lian?" Duan Yue turned his head, raised an eyebrow, and softly called out to Mo Lian, who seemed slightly stunned.
Mo Lian snapped back to attention, glanced at him, and silently dragged him out of the crowd.
He briefly described the sculptures they had seen in Happy Village and Grey Flat Village to Duan Yue.
Duan Yue frowned. "So, are you saying those Harpies are the modern-day improved versions of the Heaven's Fortune?"
Mo Lian's expression grew slightly solemn. He nodded. "But as for the beast horde... could they still possess the secret to commanding beast hordes?"
"Let's go back and discuss it with Qiao Qiao and the others first..."
As the two reached the doorway, they saw Zhao Yi rushing over, carrying his beloved junior sister, already at the wooden building's entrance.
Duan Yue subconsciously reached out to block him, frowning. "What are you doing?"
"Get out of the way," Zhao Yi gritted out.
"Prince Chen," Gu Yixuan quickly caught up, bowing to Duan Yue. "Our companion is ill and needs a room to rest. Please, be accommodating."
Duan Yue looked at him with a half-smile, his peach-blossom eyes, glinting with cold light, scrutinizing him. "Do I look like such a compassionate person?"
With a creak, the door opened. The little stoic stood at the entrance, staring fixedly at them, and unceremoniously called out, "Go home."
Mo Lian secretly chuckled. With a single step, he darted back into the room, calling out pitifully, "Qiao Qiao, it's chaotic outside! I heard hundreds of thousands of beasts have surrounded the fortification."
