Chapter 3961: 4.1561 Help Him With All Your Might

That guy Yun Piaomiao, couldn't he say a few more words? What a pain, Mo Lian thought, frowning.

He felt three small furry things bump his hand and snapped out of his thoughts. He casually grabbed some meat strips, tore them, and fed them to the puppies, muttering, "I wonder if Qiaoqiao's doing alright."

"Your Highness," Tong's figure appeared at the doorway.

Mo Lian nodded. "Any news?"

Tong's face showed a hint of hesitation.

"Just say it."

"Yes," Tong nodded, then said, "The day after Crown Prince Chen returned to Cangzhou, he went to the Lonely Mountain Royal Mausoleum and hasn't come down since."

"Royal Mausoleum??" Mo Lian was stunned. "Whose?"

"Crown Prince Chen's mother has passed away."

Mo Lian froze. "How could it be so sudden?"

"Yes, the information my subordinates gathered is that Crown Prince Chen received news of his mother's encoffinment and burial on his second day back, and he immediately rushed to Lonely Mountain that day."

"What else did you find out??" Mo Lian's expression shifted slightly. He hoped nothing serious had happened to that boy; Qiaoqiao was worried about him.

"Our people are acting very cautiously in Fengdi City. Emperor Cang's spies are everywhere; one misstep and he'll catch them," Tong lowered his head slightly. "We've only found this much for now."

"It's said that Crown Prince Chen cried for three days and nights on Lonely Mountain before collapsing."

Mo Lian:!

"Have our people contact him and see if there's anything we can help with."

"Yes!" Tong didn't say anything else, merely lowering his eyes slightly. After all, their people stationed in Fengdi City were essentially enemy spies. The Crown Prince was now willing to sacrifice these individuals to help Crown Prince Chen, which showed how deep their personal friendship was.

Duan Yue's situation definitely wouldn't be as easy as his own. When he returned to the capital, his father, despite being arrogant, gave him everything he was supposed to, without holding anything back. He even unhesitatingly handed over one of the most secretive branches of the Youjing Guards, the Imperial Hidden Guards, to him. Aside from that old woman, the imperial harem caused him no real trouble.

Duan Yue, however, was different. His unreliable father wouldn't spoil his son like the Emperor of Shenzhou. With so many children, why would Emperor Cang necessarily choose Duan Yue? Furthermore, with so many women and so much strife in the imperial harem, the death of Duan Yue's mother was certainly not simple.

"Help him with all your might. Give him all the connections and money he needs," Mo Lian ordered coldly.

"Yes!!" Tong was about to leave quickly.

But he heard his master say coldly, "He must not come to harm."

"Yes!"

Mo Lian remained seated in the room until dusk, when he was roused by a soft knock on the door. Qiao Zhongbang stood at the doorway. "Little Mo, come eat. Why are you cooped up in the room?"

Mo Lian's expression softened, and he stood to greet him. "Father."

"Qiaoqiao said she's going into seclusion for a few days to refine some pills," Qiao Zhongbang scratched his head, smiling. "If you don't have anything important to do, don't stay cooped up. Come out and chat with everyone."

"Alright," Mo Lian nodded with a slight smile.

"Oh, right, you have court tomorrow morning, don't you? Your mother said she'd make you breakfast! Remember to eat before you go." Although Changle Street wasn't far from the palace, it wasn't as close as the East Palace. It would still take about fifteen minutes to get there. The Crown Prince staying here meant he would have to leave a bit earlier.

"Alright," Crown Prince Mo replied with a smile.

Qiao Zhongbang nodded cheerfully.
