Chapter 3973: 4.1573 A Foul Mess!

Mo Xikang's anger flared abruptly. He pulled the incessantly weeping Lin Wan'er into his embrace, softly comforted her for a moment, then turned to glare at Zheng Wangfei, "No sense of decorum!" What legitimate wife would be so undignified, arguing with an outside concubine at the front gate like this?

"What's all this commotion about?" Su He, having heard the commotion, walked over, his face filled with rage. Behind him followed the subservient Madam Liang and the arrogant Su Xitao.

Su Xitao saw the scene unfold and couldn't help but gloat. "Sister-in-law, it's not for me, your sister, to say, but a princess like you, who constantly talks back to and angers my elder brother, is truly rare in this world."

Zheng Wangfei scoffed coldly, "Since none of you care about your dignity, it seems my dignity, Shi Yongyan's dignity, isn't that important either."

"Shi Yongyan!" Zheng Wang Mo Xikang's tone was sharp and cold, his eyes fixed on her in a warning glare.

"Mo Xikang, search your heart. All these years, I've managed the entire Zheng Wang residence, from top to bottom. Have I ever done anything to wrong you?" Her voice rose. "Are you going to humiliate me like this?" She gestured to Lin Wan'er. "On my birthday, you let this woman, with her belly full of illegitimate offspring, insult and degrade me like this??"

Mo Xikang was speechless. He turned and glared at the whimpering Lin Wan'er. He lowered his voice. "Go back first. Didn't I tell you last time that this matter can't be rushed? Wait until the storm settles..."

"How can I not be in a hurry?" Lin Wan'er grabbed Mo Xikang's hand, crying and wiping her tears, her voice soft. "Your Highness, even if I'm not in a hurry, our child cannot wait." The "little white flower" continued to wipe her tears and weep, "Your Highness, this is your first son. How can you let him suffer such grievance?"

"Your Highness knows my situation in the Lin family. My legitimate mother and Elder Sister Muer have always disliked me," she sobbed. "If I stayed in the Lin family, I don't know if I'd even be able to keep this child alive." Speaking of her sorrow, Lin Wan'er was almost choked with sobs. "I only came to consult with Your Highness because I was desperate; I didn't know it was the Princess Consort's birthday today."

Mo Xikang saw her weeping, looking so delicate she could faint at any moment. He felt a pang of pity and embraced her, patting her back.

"Sister-in-law," Su Xitao said sarcastically, "You, as the legitimate wife, are so narrow-minded. My elder brother is merely taking a concubine; do you really need to block so many people at the gate and make such a scene?"

"Little sister-in-law, as an unmarried girl, I advise you to choose your words carefully." Zheng Wangfei, alone, coldly faced Mo Xikang's entire troublesome family. Her expression remained fearless. "You're already meddling in your elder brother and sister-in-law's private matters. Do you never want to get married?" Zheng Wangfei sneered.

Su Xitao stomped her foot in anger, about to retort, but her mother, Madam Liang, tugged at her hand, and she sullenly closed her mouth.

Qiaoqiao Daren frowned and tugged at the Crown Prince's finger. Mo Lian felt her soft fingers brush against his. He chuckled, looking down at her. "What's wrong?"

"It's a foul mess. Let's go."

"Alright," Mo Lian naturally didn't object. Adhering to the principle that his wife was always right, he nodded and led her by the hand back towards their carriage.
