Chapter 4737: Cry You to Death
For some unknown reason, the Heavenly Dao felt utterly exasperated looking at the enraged Xuanhuang.
Xuanhuang and Nitian, those two, always took turns wreaking havoc here. What was it to do?
"Heavenly Dao, you old ghost, are you secretly up to something? Those thirteen old fogeys on the sea, they don't look like they're from here. Why can they come here, but I can't?"
Because you're much stronger than all of them combined. The Heavenly Dao muttered to itself silently.
But it would absolutely never say that in front of Xuanhuang, lest it make Xuanhuang even more smug.
The Heavenly Dao's inner monologue right now was probably: I'm having such a tough time.
A perfectly ordinary continent keeps having these variables pop up.
Can't you just develop normally? You always have to produce these little monsters, these little perverts, it's truly disheartening to watch.
"Nitian..."
The Heavenly Dao suddenly transformed into a half-grown child, pouncing onto Xuanhuang and clamping its chubby hands firmly over Xuanhuang's mouth.
"Don't, don't call! Don't call!"
Xuanhuang's eyes met the Heavenly Dao's wide, bulging ones at close range, and for some inexplicable reason, she felt an urge to burst out laughing.
This creature looked utterly comical.
"Don't think that just because you turn into a cute baby, you can change the essence of your old bones," Xuanhuang cursed expressionlessly.
The Heavenly Dao had a bitter look on its face, stammering, "Don't, don't alert Nitian again. She was just here not long ago, she can't come again, I'm telling you. Alright, alright, you go back first. Leave things here to this old man, okay?"
"No!" Xuanhuang exclaimed with such excitement that spit nearly flew onto the old man's face.
The Heavenly Dao's old face twisted in anger, then it scowled, "I'm telling you, Xuanhuang, don't force me to use my trump card!! The consequences are something you can't bear."
Xuanhuang looked disdainfully at the creature before her, her gaze still carrying a hint of doubt. "What trump card?"
As far as she knew, the Heavenly Dao was a coward who bullied the weak and feared the strong.
It wasn't that she looked down on this creature, but what kind of trump card could it possibly have to threaten her?
The Heavenly Dao, standing close by, squeezed its small face and suddenly let out a heaven-shaking bellow, "Xuanhuang~"
It pounced, hugging her arm, and wailed dramatically, "If you don't go back, I'll come to your house every day and cry until you die."
Xuanhuang: ...
She tried to shake it off, but couldn't dislodge the Heavenly Dao.
Xuanhuang immediately felt a bit helpless.
"What exactly do you want?"
"You go back."
"No!" Xuanhuang smacked the back of its head in annoyance. "Didn't you see my Little Darling has already taken out the Fuxi Sword?"
"Her soul body is so unstable, and there are still two soul fragments she hasn't recovered," Xuanhuang said with a cold face. "I need to see things resolved and her safe with my own eyes."
"Understood, understood, I understand it all," the Heavenly Dao wiped away old tears, swearing solemnly, "Xuanhuang, you go back first, leave this place to me. Don't worry, I won't let a single one of those old geezers who trespassed from the Divine Realm get away."
"You?" Xuanhuang eyed it suspiciously, expressing some doubt about its current statement.
The Heavenly Dao was so soft-hearted; would it really deal with those outsiders?
"Hey, don't doubt me!" The Heavenly Dao noticed her suspicious gaze and grew a little anxious.
"I'm telling you, I'm really not that unreliable."
