Chapter 5380: Denying to the Death
Cai Qi immediately grabbed a dirty rag and directly stuffed it into Su Xitao's mouth. Su Xitao's eyes widened, a look of disbelief on her face, as she glared hatefully at Cai Qi, her entire face flushed red. As if suffering some immense injustice, tears welled up in Su Xitao's eyes, but did not fall.
At the little Crown Princess's command, the palace maids immediately swarmed forward and restrained Su Xitao. They showed no mercy, lifting her clothes and searching her person, thoroughly going through her from head to toe, inside and out. They placed all the various bottles and jars they found before the little Crown Princess.
The little stoic's face was cold. She picked up one of the porcelain bottles, shook it forcefully by the opening, and stated expressionlessly, "Black Centipede."
She then picked up another porcelain bottle, shook it, and said coldly, "Poisonous Scorpion."
"Seven Flower Powder."
Watching the expressionless little Crown Princess identify each item in the bottles, and recognize every single one clearly, Su Xitao's pupils rapidly contracted and dilated. A bad premonition flickered in her heart.
"You've prepared more than ten kinds of poisonous insects, creatures, and powders, carrying them all on your person. Do you intend to use these things to harm my son?" The little stoic's lips curved into an icy arc.
Cai Qi saw this and couldn't help but shiver slightly. As the Crown Princess spoke, her eyes coldly fixed on Su Xitao, and the profound coldness and cruelty in the depths of her gaze swept over, as if she could tear Su Xitao to shreds in the next instant.
Su Xitao's eyes widened in horror. She desperately tried to spit out the dirty cloth in her mouth, pretending not to understand, and asked, "How can you slander me like this? What evidence do you have that I brought these things to harm the little imperial grandson? Can't I use them for self-defense?"
"The fragrance on your body," Qiao Mu said, her gaze coldly fixed on her. "It's very problematic."
"What, what problem?"
Qiao Mu gave Cai Xiu and Cai Qi a look, and they immediately understood. With expressionless faces, they stepped forward and forcefully pressed Su Xitao down onto a nearby golden-threaded wooden table.
"Ah!" Su Xitao let out a short shriek, then her eyes widened in terror and disbelief, staring intently at a bottle that Cai Qi had opened in her hand. The powder from the bottle was entirely poured into her mouth. The powder was fine and granular, and when caught by the wind, Su Xitao couldn't help but cough repeatedly, spitting out a small amount of the powder.
Qiao Mu tossed Cai Qi and Cai Xiu each a pill, motioning for them to take it quickly. Then, her gaze coldly fixed on Su Xitao before her, her eyes as deep and cold as ten thousand shards of ice in an abyss, showing no warmth whatsoever.
"Su Xitao," Qiao Mu said coldly, word by word, "Today, even if a Great Luo Immortal were present, no one could save your life."
Princess Zheng only now regained her senses. She quickly stepped forward and said, "Crown Princess, Crown Princess! What is going on? Tao'er has always harbored some disrespect towards the Crown Princess; it is right for you to punish her. But can you please not implicate her family?"
Su Xitao was so enraged that she choked, a breath caught in her chest, making her extremely uncomfortable.
"Sister-in-law, how can you say that about me? Instead of pleading for me, finding a way out for me, you actually kick me further down the path to death?"
Princess Zheng looked at Su Xitao with an expression of disappointment, as if she were a piece of iron that couldn't be forged into steel, and coldly glanced at her.
