Chapter 153: Mew's Bulbsasaur Refused To Evolved

(Meanwhile, Mew and the others are running down the path.)

(Brock says.)

Brock: "This way! Follow the stream of pollen!"

Mew: "It should lead us straight to Bulbasaur!"

(Mew says.)

Misty: "We must be near the Mysterious Garden!"

(Misty says.)

(However, large vines come out of nowhere and are trying to block their path.)

Misty: "What's that?!"

(Misty says, shocked.)

Brock: "This whole forest is going crazy!"

(Brock says.)

(Then Brock looks ahead.)

Brock: "Look! Those vines are trying to block our way!"

Pikachu: "Pika!" (Oh no!)

(Pikachu panics.)

Mew: "There's no way a bunch of stupid vines are gonna stop me from rescuing Bulbasaur!"

(Mew says.)

Eevee: "Eevee!" (You said it!)

(Eevee says.)

Tomo: "Let's go!"

(Tomo says.)

(Mew and the others dive through the vines before the path can be closed off.)

Mew: "That was a close one,"

(Mew says.)

(Brock stands up and says.)

Brock: "Now, I'm beginning to understand why nobody's seen the Mysterious Garden before."

Misty: "There's only one way to go, now. Into the garden,"

(Misty says.)

(Suddenly, Pikachu says.)

Pikachu: "Pika!" (Yo guys!)

Mew: "What is it, Pikachu?"

(Mew asks.)

(Everyone hurries over and finds themselves looking over the horizon.)

(they see an entire field full of Bulbasaur, and the pollen seems to be traveling towards a giant dead tree.)

Mew: "Wow! This must be the Mysterious Garden!"

(Mew says, amazed.)

Bulbasaur: "Bulbasaur," (Sure is.)

(A Bulbasaur says.)

(Mew and the others turn to see another Bulbasaur making its way to the festival too.)

(Mew asks.)

Mew: "Hello. Are you here to evolve too?"

Bulbasaur: "Bulba. Bulbasaur Bulbasaur Bulbasaur. Bulbasaur Bulbasaur" (Sure am. I've waited until the festival came and now here I am. Better go, the ceremony is going to start.)

(The Bulbasaur says, and takes its leave to the garden.)

Mew: "Okay,"

(Mew says.)

(Down in the field, the Bulbasaur begins to start the ceremony by singing a song.)

(Soon, the tree begins to grow and it's branches grow as well.)

(It grows longer and nearly goes up to the moon.)

(Soon, flowers begin to bloom in the field and blossoms on the trees, leaving the heroes in wonderment.)

Mew: "That's neat!"

(Mew says.)

Misty: "Wow! It's so pretty!"

(Misty says.)

(Soon, giant bangs are shaking the ground and a glow appears in the tree.)

Mew: "What's that banging sound?"

(Mew asks.)

(Coming out of the tree is a squat, quadrupedal Pokémon with bumpy, blue-green skin.)

(It has small, circular red eyes; a short, blunt snout.)

(and a wide mouth with two pointed teeth in the upper jaw and four in the lower jaw.)

(On top of its head are small, pointed ears with reddish pink insides.)

(It has three clawed toes on each foot. The bud on its back has bloomed into a large pink, white-spotted flower.)

(The flower is supported by a thick, brown trunk surrounded by green fronds.)

(This Pokemon is known as a Venusaur.)

(Venusaur calls out.)

Venusaur: "SAUUUURR! ("RISE!")

Mew: "Look, you guys! It's a Venusaur!"

(Mew says, amazed.)

Misty: "It's giant!"

(Misty says, amazed.)

Tomo: "Humongous!"

(Tomo says.)

(Mew brings out her Pokedex and Dexter says.)

Dexter: "Venusaur, the Seed Pokemon, and the final evolved form of Bulbasaur. A Grass and Poison Type. It soaks up the sun's rays as a source of energy."

Brock: "But that kind of behavior makes it sound like a plant,"

(Brock says.)

(Mew then looks around as she says.)

Mew: "I know Bulbasaur is around here somewhere. He's the only one with the bandage stuck on it's forehead."

(Just then, Tomo notices.)

Tomo: "Over there."

Eevee: "Eevee!" (There he is!)

(Eevee adds.)

(Mew and the others soon find Mew's Bulbasaur right away.)

(And it's next to another Bulbasaur.)

Misty: "And there's the Bulbasaur from earlier,"

(Misty says.)

(Mew turns to the others.)

Mew: "We'll need to be quiet, we don't want the Bulbasaurs and Venusaur to notice we're here."

Brock: "You're right, human beings aren't supposed to be here,"

(Brock says.)

Misty: "Let's watch the festival,"

(Misty says.)

(Mew and the others hide under the bushes.)

(Soon, the festival is underway.)

(Venusaur lets out a roar.)

Venusaur: "SAUUUURR!" (RISE!)

(Bulbasaurs roar.)

Bulbasaurs: "SAUUUURR!" (RISE!)

Venusaur: "SAUUUURR!" (RISE!)

(Venusaur roars.)

Bulbasaurs: "SAUUUURR!" (RISE!)

(Bulbasaurs roar.)

(Mew and the others watch as the Venusaur and all the Bulbasaur continue to roar.)

(Soon, the Bulbasaurs are beginning to glow.)

(Venusaur roars.)

Venusaur: "SAUUUURR!" (RISE!)

(Bulbasaurs roar.)

Bulbasaurs: "SAUUUURR!" (RISE!)

(Mew and the others are amazed to see the Bulbasaur are going to evolve now.)

(Meanwhile, Team Rocket comes across the vine wall that is blocking the entrance to the festival.)

(Jessie asks.)

Jessie: "How do we get in there?"

James: "Why doesn't Meowth Scratch his way through with his claws?"

(James asks.)

Meowth: "I just filed them,"

(Meowth says.)

(Jessie then holds out an Axe.)

Jessie: "Alright, garden wall, you axed for it!"

(James does the same.)

James: "We're the toughest team you ever saw!"

Meowth: Let's cut to the chase!"

(Meowth says, holding a pair of scythes.)

(However, the vines attack them and send them flying.)

(but Team Rocket is not going to give up.)

Jessie: "A temper tantrum, eh?! Let's get to the root of its problem!"

(Jessie angrily says.)

Meowth: "Engarde!"

(Meowth says.)

(The three charge at the vines, but the vines chase them away.)

James: "I think its bite is worse than its bark!"

(James screams as he and the others run away.)

(Meanwhile, The Bulbasaur all begin to glow and they all begin to evolve at the same time.)

(They all evolve into Ivysaur, a quadrupedal Pokémon that has blue-green skin with darker patches.)

(On top of its head are pointed ears with black insides and it has narrow red eyes.)

(Ivysaur has a short, rounded snout with a wide mouth and two pointed teeth in its upper jaw.)

(Each of its feet has three claws on them.)

(The bulb on its back has bloomed into a large pink bud.)

(A short brown trunk surrounded by leafy green fronds supports the bud.)

Ivysaur: "Ivysaur!" (Alright!)

(Ivysaur says.)

Mew: "Alright!"

(Mew says.)

(Then brings out her Pokedex and Dexter says.)

Dexter: "Ivysaur, the Seed Pokemon and the evolved form of Bulbasaur. A Grass and Poison Type. The bulb on its back absorbs nourishment and blooms into a large flower."

(Venusaur calls out.)

Venusaur: "Sauuuur." (Begin!)

Ivysaurs: "Sauuuur." (We begin!)

(Ivysaurs call out.)

(Venusaur calls out,.)

Venusaur: "Sauuuur." (Begin!)

Ivysaurs: "Sauuuur." (We begin!)

(Ivysaurs call out.)

(The Ivysaur begin to chant as Mew and the others watch the event.)

Mew: "This must be their evolution festival,"

(Mew says.)

Brock: "For a long time, people have disagreed whether Bulbasaur is an animal-like Pokemon or a plant-like Pokemon. If either plants or animals disappear from the planet, life wouldn't go on,"

(Brock says.)

Misty: "They need each other to live and grow,"

(Misty says.)

Brock: "Maybe the Bulbasaur are a sign that all life on earth is connected,"

(Brock says.)

Mew: "Maybe you're right,"

(Mew says.)

(Mew then notices something.)

Mew: "Bulbasaur?"

(The others look to see Mew's Bulbasaur.)

(and are surprised to see Bulbasaur is glowing, but is resisting the evolution stage.)

Misty: "It's not evolving!"

(Misty says.)

(The Ivysaur walks to Bulbasaur and asks.)

Ivysaur: "Ivy Saur?" (What's wrong?)

(Misty asks.)

Misty: "What's going on?"

Brock: "It looks like it's trying NOT to evolve!"

(Brock says.)

(Mew says.)

Mew: "Maybe Bulbasaur feels that he's not ready yet."

Tomo: "Not ready?"

(Tomo asks.)

(Pikachu says.)

Pikachu: "Pika Pika Pikachu." (She's right. Bulbasaur doesn't want to evolve.)

Eevee: "Eevee Eevee," (He doesn't think he's ready.)

(Eevee adds.)

Misty: "What did Pikachu and Eevee say?"

(Misty asks.)

Mew: "Pikachu said that bulbasaur doesn't want to evolve. Eevee said that he doesn't think he's ready,"

(Mew translated.)

(Suddenly, Tomo looks ahead and looks weary.)

Tomo: "Uh guys, I think we got trouble."

Mew: "Trouble?"

(Mew asks.)

(Mew and the others look ahead and are shocked to see Venusaur noticing Mew's Bulbasaur.)

(So are the other Ivysaur.)

(Venusaur says.)

Venusaur: Venusaur, "Ve, Venusaur?" (What? Who is that over there?)

Bulbasaur: Bulbasaur, "Bulba?" (Huh?)

Venusaur: "Vena! Venusaur," (Hey, you! Why have you not evolved?)

(Venusaur demands.)

Bulbasaur: "Bulba Bulbasaur!" (I just wasn't ready to evolve!)

(Mew's Bulbasaur answers.)

Venusaur: "Venusaur Venusaur! Vena Venusaur?" (All Bulbasaur must evolve! Why do you refuse?)

(Venusaur says.)

Bulbasaur: "Bulba Bulbasaur Bulbasaur Bulba Bulbasaur," (I didn't come here for this festival! And I don't think I'll ever be ready to evolve!)

(Bulbasaur says.)

(Venusaur is not pleased to hear it.)

Venusaur: "Saur? Venusaur Venu SAUR!" (What? How disgraceful of you to trespass our festival!)

Ivysaur: "Ivysaur!" (Trespasser!)

(Ivysaur says.)

Bulbasaur: "Bulbasaur?" (What?)

(Mew's Bulbasaur asks, shocked.)

(Above, Mew and the other are seeing what is happening.)

Misty: "The others are getting really angry at Bulbasaur,"

(Misty says.)

Mew: "I think I know why. They're mad because Bulbasaur refuses to evolve, but my Bulbasaur doesn't want to. They can't force him,"

(Mew says.)

Brock: "I don't think they'll give your Bulbasaur a choice,"

(Brock says.)
