Chapter 160: Mew Passed The Test And Team Rocket Trio's Sabotage

(Soon, the third exam is taking place.)

(Turns out, the final exam is a Pokemon battle.)

(Nurse Joy is battling Squirtle while the instructor is using Charmander.)

(Nurse Joy calls out.)

Nurse Joy: "Alright, Squirtle, Water Gun attack!"

(Squirtle attacks with Water Gun which is on target.)

(Then Nurse Joy says.)

Nurse Joy: "Squirtle, give it the Skull Bash, now!"

(At the stands, Brock cheers.)

Brock: "Nurse Joy, you're doing great! Yeah!"

(Then turns to Todd.)

Brock: "He turns towards Todd. Alright, shoot away. I ant 8 x 10 glossies, and wallet sizes too!"

Todd: "Yeah, sure…"

(Todd says, feeling uncomfortable.)

(While the battle continues, Mew and James are selecting a belt that has three Pokeballs on each.)

instructor: "Now, select whatever one you like,"

(The instructor says.)

Mew: "Um sir, what kind of test is it?"

(Mew asks.)

instructor: "Good question. All the Pokemon in these Pokeballs are trained for battles so they'll obey your commands. This test determines whether a trainer can adapt, regardless of what Pokemon comes out,"

(The instructor says.)

James: "With whom do we have to battle?"

(James asks.)

instructor: "With me,"

(The instructor says.)

Mew: "Okay. I'll choose this one,"

(Mew says, taking the belt.)

(James takes one.)

James: "I'll take these!"

(Soon, James is first on the battlefield.)

(Jessie shouts.)

Jessie: "Come on, James! Beat that ignoramus!"

Meowth: "Right. Really beat the guy,"

(Meowth says.)

James: "This one's for you, Jessie!"

(James says, and throws his Pokeball.)

(The Pokemon to come out of the Pokeball is a Pikachu.)

(much to Team Rocket and Mew and her friends' shock.)

(James chuckles eagerly.)

James: "With this, I can't lose! Thunder Shock, Thunderbolt. I've been destroyed by Pikachu's attacks so many times I know them all by heart!"

(Then begins to laugh wickedly.)

(Jessie and Meowth think differently, and are kind of embarrassed.)

Jessie: "That's kinda pathetic when you think about it,"

(Jessie says.)

Meowth: "Yeah."

(Meowth replies.)

instructor: "Now, we begin! Go!"

(The instructor says, and throws his Pokeball.)

(A Graveler comes out and appears on the battlefield.)

James: "It's a Graveler!"

(James says.)

(Then calls out.)

James: "Pikachu, Thunderbolt!"

(He then happily says.)

James: "Ooh, that feels great to say!"

(Pikachu then performs Thunderbolt, but nothing happens.)

(Mew has a feeling about this, because Graveler is a rock type, electric type like Pikachu are at a disadvantage.)

(And Mew's right, Graveler charges at Pikachu, knocking it out, and flies to James' face.)

(Confused, James says.)

James: "I don't get it! How come the Thunderbolt attack didn't work?"

instructor: "You should've known that electricity doesn't work on rock Pokemon. Minus one point,"

(The instructor says.)

James: "Well, then. How about this!"

(James says, and throws two more.)

(Out of the Pokeballs is a Charizard and an Ivysaur.)

(James says sounding confident.)

James: "With these, I can win! Now, what do you say?"

(Mew sweat bullets and says.)

Mew: "That was a bad move."

Tomo: "A really bad one,"

(Tomo adds.)

(The instructor sternly says.)

instructor: "Goodbye! It's against the rules to use two Pokemon at once."

James: "I never play by the.."

(James says, but stops to see the instructor's upset attitude.)

(The instructor says.)

instructor: "You're expelled. Now get out."

(Jessie sulks.)

Jessie: "He failed again."

Meowth: "Don't think of it as failing. Think of it as not succeeding,"

(Meowth says.)

(Now it's Mew's turn.)

Misty: "Now it's Mew's turn,"

(Misty says.)

Brock: "Go get em, Mew!"

(Brock says.)

Pikachu: "Pika Pi!" (Go Mew!)

(Pikachu cheers.)

Eevee: "Eevee Eevee!" (You can do it!)

(Eevee cheers.)

Tomo: "Go!"

(Tomo calls out.)

Todd: "Make sure you win!"

(Todd calls out.)

(Mew smiles to hear her friends support, now she plans to pass this test.)

(Meanwhile, James sulk over his expulsion.)

James: "I'm such a loser!"

(Soon, Jessie and Meowth show up behind him.)

(Jessie says.)

Jessie: "James? I have a plan that will make us all winners!"

Meowth: "Yeah!"

(Meowth says.)

(Back at the battlefield, Mew is ready to battle.)

instructor: "Are you ready, Mew?"

(The instructor asks.)

Mew: "Ready!"

(Mew answers.)

(The instructor throws his Pokeball.)

instructor: "Pokeball, go!"

(Out of the Pokeball is Flareon.)

Mew: "So Flareon is up first. Let's see what Pokemon I have,"

(Mew says.)

(Then throws her Pokeball.)

Mew: "Pokeball, go!"

(The Pokeball opens and the Pokemon comes out.)

(To Mew and the others' surprise, the Pokemon is Weezing.)

Mew: "I got a Weezing?"

(Mew says, surprised.)

Team Rocket: "That's bad!"

(Team Rocket comments.)

(Brock says.)

Brock: "Mew got the Pokemon James has."

(The instructor says.)

instructor; "It's time to start the battle. Flareon, go! Flamethrower, now!"

(Flareon charges and begins to attack.)

(Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Weezing dodge."

(Weezing dodges the attack.)

(Then Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Weezing, use Smog attack!"

(Weezing releases the Smog attack as Flareon fires another shot.)

(but the flame hitting the smog causes an explosion and sends the fire pokemon back.)

(It then lands on its feet.)

(The instructor says.)

instructor: "Now, Flareon, use Leer!

(Then Flareon begins to use Leer.)

(Mew then calls out.)

Mew: "Weezing, fight back with Smokescreen!"

(Weezing spreads smoke around the area and Flareon loses sight of Weezing.)

(Mew then calls out.)

Mew: "Go, Weezing! Tackle attack!"

(Through the smoke, Weezing strikes at Flareon and knocks it out.)

(and Flareon is out for the count.)

Mew: "I did it,"

(Mew cheers happily.)

(Weezing flies to Mew.)

(Mew pets Weezing on the head.)

Mew: "You did great, Weezing."

Weezing: "Weezing," (Thank you.)

(Weezing happily says.)

(Misty happily says.)

Misty: "Mew did it!"

Brock: "Even Team Rocket could win if they fought like that!"

(Brock says.)

(Todd has been taking pictures of Mew's battle.)

(Speaking of Team Rocket, they are writing down notes of Mew's battle, and Meowth is embarrassed.)

(James quickly says.)

James: "Hurry! Take notes! Take notes!"

(The instructor tosses his next Pokeball.)

instructor: "Now, round two!"

(Soon, Jolteon comes out and is ready to battle.)

Mew: "Okay, a Jolteon. Next, Pokeball, go!"

(Mew says and throws her Pokeball.)

(Coming out of the Pokeball is Arbok.)

(Mew and the others are surprised to see it.)

Mew: "I got an Arbok,"

(Mew replies.)

Misty: "Mew got the Pokemon Jessie has!"

(Misty says.)

(Pikachu replies.)

Pikachu: "Chu." (Odd.)

Tomo: "Really odd?"

(Tomo agrees.)

(The instructor says.)

instructor: "Jolteon, Agility attack!"

(Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Arbok use Glare!"

(Arbok's eyes begin to glow and cause Jolteon to stop dead in its tracks.)

Mew: "Now, use Poison Sting,"

(Mew calls out.)

(Arbok then attacks Jolteon and strikes it with full force.)

Mew: "Finish it with Headbutt,"

(Mew says.)

(Then Arbok slams its head at Jolteon, sending it flying.)

(Soon, Jolteon is out for the count.)

(The instructor says.)

instructor: "Hmm, she's really good."

(Misty says.)

Misty: "She only needs one more Pokemon and she wins the match."

Brock: "And passes her test,"

(Brock says.)

(James and Jessie continue to take notes on what they have seen.)

(and Meowth is annoyed to see this.)

(Mew pets Arbok.)

Mew: "Good job Arbok."

(Then calls it back to it's Pokeball.)

(Then brings out her last Pokemon.)

Mew: "Pokeball, go!"

(Mew calls out.)

(Finally, Meowth appears to be the last Pokemon.)

Mew: "Meowth?!"

(Mew says, surprised.)

Pikachu: "Pika?" (Meowth?)

(Pikachu says, surprised.)

Eevee: "Eevee?" (What are the odds?)

(Eevee agrees.)

(Even the Pokemon and humans are surprised.)

Brock: "This oughta be interesting,"

(Brock says.)

Togepi: "Toge Toge!" (Yes, indeed.)

(Togepi happily says.)

(Meowth waves to the other Meowth.)

Meowth: "Hey, Meowth! Good luck!"

(The instructor throws his Pokeball.)

instructor: "Pokeball, go!"

(The final Pokemon from the instructor is Vaporeon.)

Mew: "Alright Meowth, let's battle!"

(Mew says.)

(Meowth agrees and begins to charge into battle.)

(The instructor calls out.)

instructor: "Vaporeon, use your Ice Beam, now!"

(Vaporeon performs the attack.)

(Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Meowth dodge!"

(Meowth dodges the attack and jumps in the air.)

Mew: "Now Meowth, use Pay Day!"

(Mew calls out.)

(Meowth then performs Pay Day and prevents Vaporeon from performing another attack.)

(Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Use Furry Swipe!"

(Meowth then performs Furry Swipe and prevents Vaporeon from attacking.)

Mew: "Now, use Night Slash!"

(Mew calls out.)

(Meowth then performs Night Slash and sends Vaporeon back, and soon it's knocked out.)

(Mew smiles and picks up Meowth.)

Mew: "We did it Meowth. You were great."

Meowth: "Meowth," (Thank you.)

(Meowth says.)

(The instructor calls Vaporeon to the Pokeball.)

instructor: "That is it. You have passed the test with flying colors."

Mew: "Um, thank you,"

(Mew says, blushing.)

instructor: "I must say. I'm sure you will be an excellent Pokemon trainer,"

(The instructor says.)

(Team Rocket feels defeated about it.)

Jessie: "I must admit, the kid is actually good,"

(Jessie says.)

James: "She battles with Arbok, Weezing, and Meowth better than we do,"

(James says.)

(Meowth says.)

Meowth: "Hey, we can't let this discourage us, and James still had the Pokemon from the exam."

(Jessie and James perk up and say.)

Jessie and James: "Right."

(The instructor says.)

instructor: "Alright. It's time for the next trainer…"

(However, Charizard, Ivysaur, and Pikachu appear on the battlefield.)

(They also see Team Rocket with them.)

(The instructor sternly says.)

instructor: "Return those Pokemon immediately!"

Jessie: "We're not taking orders from you anymore, Mr. exam man!"

(Jessie angrily says.)

James: "Now we're the ones who are going to test you!"

(James says.)

instructor: "What?"

(The instructor says.)

Jessie: Prepare yourself for trouble!

James: I suggest you make that double!

Mew: "I know it! It's Team Rocket!"

(Mew says.)

Jessie: To protect the world from devastation!

James: To unite all peoples within our nation!

Jessie: To denounce the evils of truth and love!

James: To extend our reach to the stars above!

Jessie: Jessie.

(Jessie removes her disguise.)

James: James.

(James removes his disguise.)

Jessie: Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light!

James: Surrender, now, or prepare to fight!

Meowth: Meowth! That's right!

Everyone: "Team Rocket!"

(Mew's friends exclaim.)

instructor: "Just go home and study harder and you can try again next time!"

(The instructor says.)

Jessie: "Unfortunately for you, there won't be a next time. But now that we've rounded up all these Pokemon, it's payback time!"

(Jessie says.)

(James calls out.)

James: "Pikachu, Ivysaur, Charizard, go! Are you ready?!"

(The Pokemon responds.)

Misty: "We're not gonna let you do it!"

(Misty says.)

(Mew turns to Pikachu and Eevee.)

Mew: "Go, Pikachu! You too, Eevee!""

Pikachu: "Pika!" (Let's go!)

(Pikachu says.)

Eevee: "Eev!" (Yeah!)

(Eevee says.)

(Team Rocket soon begins to call the attacks.)

(Jessie calls out.)

Jessie: "Ivysaur, use Vine Whip, now!"

(James calls out.)

James: "Charizard, Flamethrower, now!"

(Meowth calls out.)

Meowth: "Pikachu, Thunder, now!"

(But the instructor says.)

instructor: "Listen up Ivysaur, Charizard, Pikachu! About face, now!"

(The Pokemon obey immediately, much to Team Rocket's shock.)

(Soon, the Pokemon use their attacks on Team Rocket.)

(Mew and the others are surprised to see it.)

(Mew asks.)

Mew: "How did you?"

(Mew turns to the instructor.)

Mew: "Oh, they obeyed you because you're the one who raised all of them!"

instructor: "Very good, Mew,"

(The instructor says.)

(Mew then calls out.)

Mew: "Meowth, Weezing, Arbok, stop Team Rocket!"

(With that, the three Pokemon are attacking Team Rocket.)

Jessie: "Stop it, Arbok! That hurts!"

(Jessie shouts, being crushed by Arbok.)

(Meowth screams being scratched by the other Meowth.)

Meowth: "Cut it out! Cut it out!

(Being covered by Weezing smog, James screams.)

James: "Weezing, please! I can't breathe!"

(Mew then calls out.)

Mew: "Arbok, Meowth, Weezing come back."

(The Pokemon quickly return to Mew.)

(Then Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Okay, Pikachu, Eevee, use Thunderbolt!"

(Pikachu then uses Thunderbolt on Team Rocket and an explosion occurs.)

(Luckily the battlefield hasn't been damaged, and Team Rocket are sent flying once more.)

(Team Rocket screams.)

Team Rocket: "Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off again!"

(After Team Rocket has been defeated.)

(the rest of the trainers finish their exams.)

(and there are some who are able to pass with flying colors, including Mew.)

(The instructor gives Mew the badge.)

instructor: "Here you go, Mew. With this badge, you will be registered into the Pokemon League."

Mew: "Thank you sir. I really appreciate it and I do enjoy taking the exam, but I prefer to travel and earn badges. You don't mind if I keep this, like a memento,"

(Mew says.)

instructor: "But of course. I think you'll be a fine trainer, no matter which path you decide to take,"

(The instructor says.)

Mew: "Thank you,"

(Mew says.)

(Soon, Mew, her friends, and Todd leave the Admission building.)

(as they wave goodbye to the instructor, Nurse Joy, and the Pokemon to goodbye.)

(With that, Mew and her friends continue on their journey to Cinnabar Island so Mew can earn her next badge.)

(Mew, Pikachu, and Eevee look at the Exam badge.)

(as she remembers how much she knows about Pokemon.)

(and can't wait to learn more about the Pokemon of the world.)

(As the journey continues.)
