At one such academy, a seeming novice proves his prowess alongside friends and ruthless rivals. When he's not searching his school for special vending machines, he's off defeating top tier players with an older deck that shouldn't function in the current meta.

"How did you figure out his deck so easily?" the talkative kid asked. "I would have guessed the other one."

I shrugged. We were the only students sorted into Wizard dorm. "The main reason I picked up KING'S RULE was because of a personality test I did. It told me exactly what deck I should play. Since then, I figured that if my personality determines my playstyle, then it must be the same for others."

I had to think about it for a minute. "Probably Preyacht, Shrieking Terror, or Harpy Goddess."

I turned to him and smiled. "Because you talk a lot."

Before we entered the dome, he asked me what my name was. "My name is Quake Ranos. I'm 16."

He extended his hand so I could shake it. I had to switch my suitcase from one hand to the other so I could take it. "Aegon Bridger. I'm also 16."
