Music To My Ears

A beautiful blonde with full hair and luscious features, walked out of the classroom, her lips turned into a scowl.

Ignoring the ugly expression that was plastered on her face, her beauty rivaled Tara's.

She walked up to the man with the wavy black hair, her lips forming into a pout as he turned his attention towards her.

"Noah~" she cooed, "what were you doing staring at that girl instead of me? If you're not going to look at me, you should at least pay attention to the lecture~"

She leaned her chin against his shoulder and slid her hand down his lower stomach, tugging on the waistband of his pants.

"Jealous, Syd?" He questioned, his eyebrows perked up as he leaned against the wall, his body turned towards her.

"How could I ever not be interested in you? Sometimes you're so beautiful I have to look away. Otherwise, my heart might explode."

He bent his finger and lifted her chin up with his knuckle as he winked, the corners of his lips turning into a smirk.

One side of her lip went up in disgust.

"Do you think that'll work on me? Tch. Besides," She turned towards the direction Tara had run off, "Her hair is so gross. It's black, just like oil. Yuck! I bet her hair is oily and greasy! So dirty."

Noah chuckled, staring after Tara. "Black as the night."

"Who would want oil over GOLD?" She asked, running her French-tip nails through her bouncing, blonde hair.

He smiled and turned to look at her again. "Oil is called Black Gold, doofus."

Noah ruffled her hair as he chuckled.

"Noah! Ugh! Don't touch my hair! How many times do I have to tell you! You're ruining it!"

She quickly shoved his hand away and got to fixing her hair, trying to return it back to the perfection it began with.

As she fixed the mess he made, he stared back after Tara, trying to convince himself to go after her.

He knew he made enough of an impression that he didn't need to. She'd be thinking about his touch for a while. He just wished he'd gotten her name.

Once Syd was done fixing her hair, she looked up at him, noticing him staring after Tara again.

She tugged on his jacket and pressed her lips against his, tilting her head as she deepened the kiss.

Without missing a beat, Noah wrapped his arm around her waist and grabbed the back of her head.

"That girl is such a bitch, trying to steal Sydney's man…" A dark haired girl whispered to a pink haired girl as the two of them watched Sydney and Noah make out.

Noah and Sydney's tongues were visible as they tilted their heads this way and that, pressing against each other, their hands sliding in each other's hair.

The pink haired girl looked confused as she whispered back, "What do you mean, Jade? I thought Sydney was into Adrian? Isn't that who we've been trying to set her up with?"

Jade rolled her eyes and smacked the other girl hard on the arm, "Chloe, are you stupid? Sydney can have whoever she wants. If she's decided now that she wants Noah, then it's Noah."

"Ooohhh~" Chloe nodded in agreement, "Then come on, let's go make a plan for Sydney to get Noah!"

The two girls scurried away as Noah began kissing and sucking on Sydney's neck, even passing the room that Tara had slipped into on their way out of the building.

Tara, who was inside, gasped as her eyes landed on a man with platinum blonde hair, sitting in one of the chairs, his legs crossed and propped up on the adjoining desk.

He didn't pay her any mind when she came in, his focus glued to a notebook he was scribbling away in.

"I-I'm sorry! I thought the room was empty!"

She turned and grabbed the handle, preparing to leave.

"'Ts no problem. You can stay, I don't care."

His tone was flat, almost bored sounding.

Tara didn't really want to go out and risk running into Noah at the moment, so she pursed her lips and nodded.

She walked into the room and sat at one of the desks.

The silence was awkward for a while but she found that her heart was slowly going back to normal.

She didn't quite know what to do here, other than fiddle with her fingers and wait for herself to calm down.

The man glanced up, noticing her fidgeting fingers and the fact that she wasn't working on anything.

"Nothing to do?" He questioned.

"Oh…I just….I don't know what to do right now, I just got a little overwhelmed. Am I bothering your work? I can go, it's okay."

He shook his head.

"Not doing work. I'm writing a song."

She perked up. "Writing a song? You're a song writer?"

He nodded, slowly blinking as he acknowledged the fact.

"I'm in a band."

"You're in a band!? That's so cool!" She didn't notice it but a smile spread across her face.

He stared at her a moment before glancing at the wall in thought. He then turned back to face her and placed his feet on the ground.

Her eyes widened as he stood up and walked to the desk next to her, placing his ratty, old notebook in front of her.

"What do you think of these?"

She held the notebook up, it was practically falling apart, as she read the words.

"These are really good! What are all these squiggly lines?" She ran her finger across the page.

"That's the music. You've never seen sheet music before?"

Tara shook her head, "No. How is this music?"

"Each of these 'squiggles' is a note. Here, it goes like this."

He started tapping against the desk with his pencil to the beat of the song as he sang the lyrics to her.

She stared at him wide-eyed with a smile on her face.

"Wow! You can do that too?!"

He nodded again before holding out his hand.

 "Nate. You are?"
