'Enhancement complete.'
'Laser Sight added.'
Reading the log, Martin gripped his musket tighter, his hand shaking slightly as a smile crept up his face.
'Yes! It worked! All hail AI efficiency!'
Martinus held up the musket once more, then a red light shot past the barrel of the musket.
It created a straight line, becoming an extension of the barrel. A red dot appeared on the target, telling Martin where his shot would land.
The red dot now stayed at the middle of the target, then he took a breath, and pressed the trigger.
Another mana bullet formed inside the barrel and shot forward.
This time, the bullet flew straight, following the trajectory of the red dot.
The mana bullet hit the circular target squarely in the middle.
The instructors and other kids stared jaws wide at Martin and his peculiar Musket.
Everyone knows the musket, as they had tried using it once or twice before they switched to another weapon, because they didn't see its appeal.
And every single one of them knew that there wasn't supposed to be any red light that acted as aim assist to help you aim your shot.
'Is this a spell this guy had just created?' Was the thought of everyone in the room.
On the other hand, Martin was not yet satisfied with hitting the 15-meter target.
He switched to aim at the target 30 meters away and adjusted his musket.
The moment the red dot appeared in the middle of the circular target, Martin shot the musket once more, and the bullet hit the target right in the middle.
The bullet didn't bend or go off course. Wherever the red dot goes, the bullets would follow.
It certainly wouldn't help if Martin was trying to be sneaky, but in terms of accuracy, he was now hitting his shots 100% on the target he was aiming at.
And even though he cheated, the status acknowledged his achievement.

Martin nodded satisfyingly to the musket in his hand and thanked his magic IDE.
'If I have more spell assets in the IDE database… Wait, no, even with the current assets I have…'
The musket might be very limited for others since they were only capable of aiming and pulling the trigger of the musket.
They could only use the available spell circuit embedded in the musket to shoot it.
The real difficult part of the musket was the creation of the musket itself.
The people who designed the magic circuit for the musket were the ones who did all the hard work to make the musket even usable in the first place.
But it was different for Martin.
Using his IDE, Martin would be able to make adjustments to the musket's existing spell circuit.
And creating a laser sight was only a small adjustment he could think of on the spot.
If he had more time, he could give a better command to the AI to make more adjustments to make the musket even more overpowered.
And with more spell assets later down the road, Martin might be able to realize his dream using a full-auto machine gun to destroy everyone in this medieval fantasy world.
The bows and magical staff would be long forgotten as a gun that can do everything better than them would replace them.
However, that was still a far dream for now.
With his current assets, the most Martin could do was probably add a few tweaks here and there to make the musket more efficient in its mana use.
And maybe add an enhancement to make it possible to use his own mana to form the bullets, just in case the battery ran out of mana.
But to do all that, Martin would need to have a musket on his own.
"I'll take this weapon!"
The observers around him remained silent this whole time. Questions about Martin and the musket filled their minds.
'What did Martin do to the musket? What kind of spell did he use to create the red dot?' But Martin was too oblivious to give any answers without being asked.
The ranged weapon instructor was the first one to speak, "Is that red dot one of your skills?"
Martin already knew using his IDE to mess with the spell circuit embedded in the musket would attract attention to himself.
But he wanted to make the musket work that much. He was willing to throw away his insignificant goal of being lowkey.
"Yes, it is one of my unique skills."
Martin's answer seemed to have answered every question in the room as they all nodded their heads in understanding.
"With a unique skill that assists you to shoot with 100% accuracy, then being a ranged fighter might be the best option for you.
You have to strongly consider using a bow. You only need to learn spells to imbue into your arrows.
You don't have to worry about whether your shot would hit or not, only how powerful the shot was.
You will definitely be one of the most successful archers in this kingdom.
Wasting your skill on a musket will be a blatant insult to people who weren't as lucky with unique skills."
Hearing the instructor's words, Martin knew where he was coming from.
If his unique skill was really only a skill that summoned a red dot to help his aim, then the instructor's words would be 100% correct.
But with his IDE, the musket would soon change its name into a gun, a weapon capable of mass murder even in the hands of a toddler.
"It's fine, sir. My unique skill works best with weapons that have a spell circuit embedded in them. Using a bow would be a disadvantage for me instead."
Sighing in disappointment, the instructor nodded his head, "Alright then. But I can't offer much guidance if you choose a musket. The only training you need to do is just to shoot the damn thing."
The class then continued as the students kept on practicing their aim.
Martinus also trained himself to shoot the targets without the red dot assisting him.
He had reverted the magic circuit in the magic musket to its original settings so that other people wouldn't be able to steal his idea.
But he was still learning more about the musket, trying to come up with ways to boost its advantages and minimize the disadvantages even more.
When the class ended, everyone was told to return the weapons they had used if they had borrowed them from the guild.
Of course, Martin also needed to return the magic musket. But he still wanted to do a lot more things with the musket.
There's so much possibility that he wanted to explore.
Martin then went up to the instructor and asked, "Sir, do you know how much money I need to save up to buy my own musket?"
The instructor tilted his head for a moment, then replied, "It is actually quite an expensive magical tool. It costs around 3 gold coins to buy."
Martinus then did a quick math and realized.
'That's 300 bronze coins…'
Looking at the measly 8 bronze coins left in his bag, Martin could only release a sigh…
'I guess I need to quickly become an adventurer to save up for this…'
The instructor might not know what Martin was thinking about, but he knew the face of a man who had his passion blocked by a financial problem.
He knew because he looked in the mirror every single morning.
Seeing the man the same age as him having a similar problem, the instructor decided to lend him a hand.
"I might know a way for you to earn some money before becoming an adventurer."
