Never Surrender!

At this time, the United States New Eastern Government had already relocated to New York State.

President Theodore sat in his simple office, his face gloomy, staring at the map on his desk.

Since its establishment, the New Government had finally managed to fill its ranks.

But what was the use of being fully staffed? Now, with defeats everywhere, people were resigning en masse, and soon Dutch Van der Linde would completely overrun his United States New Eastern Government!

President Theodore felt utterly powerless.

He didn't know why the United States Government had reached its current state, nor why his immense efforts had led to such a result.

Now, major capital groups were either cleared out by the Van Der Linde Government or had begun to withdraw their investments and flee, which directly led to the collapse of the economy in the few remaining eastern states, leaving him with no power to turn the tide!

"Capital ruined me, capital ruined me!" President Theodore furiously slammed the table, gnashing his teeth in hatred.

In reality, it wasn't unwinnable initially; after all, the eastern heartland was largely undamaged at the time, with advantages in economy and population. If there had been a proper army general, coupled with the United States' still relatively strong navy, it wouldn't have been impossible to continue fighting despite the pressure from aircraft.

However, the major capital groups within the Congress, controlled by capital, constantly made chaotic moves.

Some capital groups wanted to seize greater power, so they sent their own descendants to the battlefield to serve as generals, thereby gaining experience to become future commanders of the United States military and hold a larger proportion in the United States Congress.

But every capital group wanted to occupy a larger proportion in the Congress, so they maliciously competed with each other. If you sent some people in, I would send more.

This was the normal state of capital, but it severely harmed the United States Government. The generals sent to the battlefield weren't even soldiers; the bastards felt the army's conditions were poor even before fighting and went to the city to pick up girls instead.

The old capital groups were even more deranged; they wanted to profit from army uniforms, food, medical supplies, and even monopolize service projects like cleaning toilets!

This led to President Theodore receiving a large loan from the capital to maintain the Congress's operations, only for that loan to immediately return to the hands of the major capital groups to maintain the Congress's operations.

After all was said and done, the United States Congress was just damn indebted!

With such a degree of exploitation, how many kidneys could his United States have to withstand it? It couldn't withstand it, absolutely couldn't!

With a mountain of foreign debt and internal tax collection failures due to incomplete government departments, if it weren't for some residual foundation from the previous old government, the Congress would have long since closed down.

And now, the already rotten situation was further shattered by the Western President's aircraft bombardment. The defeat was set, so how could Theodore not be furious?

So, what was the plan now?

President Theodore's face was grim.

He couldn't back down. The establishment of the United States New Congress was a baton he took from the old Congress through his charisma and speeches. Although everyone supported it, he was essentially the legal representative of the New Congress.

If the United States New Congress won, then it would be great; he would be the second Washington of the United States, a figure recorded in history!

But if the United States Congress lost, then the loans of this United States Congress, and the subsequent consequences, would all have to be borne by him!

Could he bear it?

Clearly, he couldn't! He could certainly choose to surrender directly and become Mr. Van der Linde's prisoner, and completely avoid sentencing due to his status, perhaps even receiving some preferential treatment, but he would then face a large group of allies, which meant endless assassinations from the old United States capital groups!

Therefore, he couldn't surrender!

But if he didn't surrender, what then? Now the defeat was certain, the capital below was no longer obedient, and the United States Congress was in a semi-paralyzed state.

All the capital groups demanded that he find a way out, a way out that would at least prevent them from being arrested and tried by the Dutch Van der Linde Gang. So how could he find one?

"Damn it, to the island!"

President Theodore was completely resigned!

Now, the only way out for their United States New Government was to flee!

And currently, the most suitable place for them to escape was the island of New Guinea, north of Australia!

There was no other way; other places either had too many people, too little land, were too chaotic, too close to the United States, or were colonies of European empires.

Only this island of New Guinea, where the controlling power was not strong, had no powerful nations nearby, and even most of its inhabitants were natives similar to Indians.

Such a place was most suitable as an escape destination!

Moreover, the European empires had already exhausted their naval elites in sea battles, making it difficult for them to control and invade with their navies in the short term. Their United States Government still had hundreds of thousands of troops, and their navy had suffered no major casualties.

So they could completely use their remaining military strength to invade New Guinea and achieve a miraculous comeback!

"We can't stay in the United States, but that doesn't mean we can't stay in the world! Give Theodore a few years, and I will develop New Guinea into a world power once more! Damn you, Van der Linde, just wait, our United States New Government will seek revenge again!

This is a generational feud, and it must be repaid!"
