"Two years…"
I sat in the center of the empty chamber, hands resting on my knees. The silence was deep — no monsters, no footsteps, no sound except my breath.
"Two whole years inside this dungeon. Fighting. Bleeding. Growing."
I stared up at the jagged ceiling. Even now, I could remember the sunlight… barely.
"But it's time. I'm ready."
---
Just Yesterday…
"Shurai," I said, standing tall but exhausted. "Please… tell me. Have I done enough?"
The boss—my mentor—stood in the center of the arena. His arms were crossed. Calm as ever.
"You've done more than enough, Rai."
I blinked. "What?"
He stepped forward. "You were meant to train here for three years. But you've reached a level most warriors spend lifetimes chasing. You've passed my expectations."
I hesitated, my eyes drifting to the glowing pedestal. A sleek violet robe shimmered on it.
"You're ready to awaken your core," Shurai said.
I approached. My fingers trembled. The moment I touched it—
A surge of mana exploded through me. The world turned violet.
White. Green. Blue. Purple.
I gasped, my heart pounding.
"Purple Core…"
Just one stage behind my uncle — and I was only fourteen.

The Final Duel
Shurai stood across from me.
"There's something more," he said. "If you defeat me now, I won't die. I'll become part of you — a guardian in your soul."
I stepped forward, determined. "I want that."
We both pressed our hands into the contract seal.
A golden light flared.
Then… the battle began.
Blow after blow. Fist against fist. My mind sharpened. My core pulsed. For the first time, I kept up with him.
Then—my mana erupted.
"I—I can't stop it!" I shouted, nearly losing control.
But he stepped forward, calm and unshaken. "Breathe, Rai. Let the power flow, not consume you."
He pressed his palm to my chest, and everything slowed. The surge subsided.
---
When I Woke Up…
I sat up, breathless. But alive.
The room felt… different.
Then I heard him — inside my mind.
"You've won. From now on, I'll reside in your soul. You're never alone again."
I looked around. Something shifted. The walls shimmered with energy.
"Wait… this dungeon…"
"Yes," Shurai's voice echoed. "You now hold full control of it. Its doors, its guardians, its core systems — they all obey you."
I froze.
"I… own the dungeon?"
"You can come and go freely. And one day, when you release me from your body, I'll return to the world… as a man."
---
Freedom
The gateway to the outside cracked open, its blue light spilling through.
I took a deep breath and stepped forward.
The wind hit my face.
The sky…
"It's real."
Tears welled in my eyes.
"Two years…"
I closed my eyes, smiling softly.
Then — a telepathic link.
"Mina…?"
"I'm coming home."
