Today was the day when Kenji would be going on a harder quest with Akarui and someone else he hadn't met yet.
They decided to go on the quest in the afternoon because more monsters of that type appear at that time, so it was a great idea.
Kenji was in his room, looking at the ceiling, wondering what to do the whole time until it was time to go on the quest.
"What should I do now?..." Kenji murmured.
First, he thought he should go and buy some food since he didn't have anything and might be hungry after finishing the quest, but then he got a better idea of what to do until the time came.
"I know! I'll go train to be prepared for the quest and to get stronger whatsoever," he said as he got up and started going.
He went to the same forest where he tried the spells before and decided this would be his place to train.
He tried using the two spells, and it was easy for him after training. Then he decided to train with the sword he had from the guild. He trained hard and saw improvement, but he got tired a lot and decided to take a break before training more.
"I should train with fists too. In any case, it could be useful sometimes. You never know."
He had some food with him because he might get hungry and fed himself before starting to train again.
After the break, he trained even more, but this time he was focusing on the fist training. He thought it would come in handy someday in the future, so he did his best to be prepared for that one day.
The time passed so fast, and Kenji was exhausted after training for seven hours straight.
The time to go on the quest finally came. Kenji was prepared, much stronger than before, and was hoping to get even stronger.
He went to the guild to meet with Akarui and a friend of Akarui so they would finally go on the quest.
In the guild, he saw Akarui with his friend. His friend looked like a nice person, and his level was 19. Kenji thought he would like this guy.
"Hi there, Kenji! This over here is Arin, the friend I mentioned to you yesterday," Akarui said, showing him with his two hands.
"Hello Arin, it's nice to meet you. I'm Kenji, a new member of this guild," Kenji said.
"Hi, it's nice to meet you too! I hope we will become great friends in the future!" said Arin, smiling.
After that, all three of them headed to the dark forest for the quest.
They walked a long way so they could find the monsters they needed to kill in order to accomplish the quest.
"By the way, guys, how many monsters should each of us kill?" asked Arin.
"I forgot to ask, but how many do we need to kill to accomplish this quest?" asked Kenji curiously.
"15 monsters," said Arin quickly.
"Well, I think each of us should kill 5 monsters, so it will go to 15 in total, and it's just how much the quest requires," said Akarui as he was walking.
"Yes, that's great. Each of us should kill 5 monsters, and it's not gonna be hard since the monsters are level 12," Arin said.
After all three agreed to take 5 monsters each and to accomplish the quest as soon as possible.
"We are here. Be prepared. They can attack any time soon, so don't let your guard down," Akarui said, holding his sword and preparing to fight.
In that moment, the monsters appeared. Kenji was long prepared and was planning on using the Water Wave spell for this kind of monster.
"Water Wave."
He cut two of the monsters that appeared in front of him in a slash without holding back anything.
"Water Ball."
He used his other spell for the other monster that appeared in front of him just a moment after finishing the other two.
And for the last two, he used his sword, moving it once left and once right. But one of the monsters attacked him and hurt him a bit on his hand.
After that, the system showed up with a new level and a new spell he had acquired.
[Level 5 unlocked]
[New spell acquired: Water Cannon]
"Water Cannon? That's interesting. I wonder how powerful it is," Kenji thought after seeing the new spell.
Arin and Akarui also finished the monsters with their spells like it was nothing, and the two of them were quite strong.
The three headed back to the guild and got the money for finishing the quest, and they split it.
When Kenji finally finished the quest and got the money, he was so excited, and he would finally be able to buy the black sword in the shop.
"Finally!"
He said bye to Akarui and Arin and headed to the sword shop to buy the sword he had seen the first time he entered that place.
He went inside the shop, and there was the shop owner waiting for customers to come and buy a sword.
"Hi, I wanted to buy a sword."
"Hi, boy. Which sword do you want to buy?"
"I saw a black sword when I came into this shop once."
"A black sword? Oh, yeah. I do have a black sword, but some people say it's cursed... But I don't believe them and still hang on to it. So if you don't want it, you don't need to buy it. Here, look at these swords," the owner of the shop said.
"It's cursed? I don't believe it. It looks fine to me, so I'll still buy it. Here you go—150 dollars," Kenji gave him the money and took the sword.
"Sure, thanks, and come again soon," said the owner.
Kenji did not believe that the sword was cursed, and he was so happy that he finally got his sword.
He decided to try his new spell tomorrow maybe, and he wasn't planning on going to another quest these days. He decided to stay home and maybe train more.
