Chapter Ten

Monday arrived and everyone was ready for their first official day at McKrapper Foods Company. The family's sleek limousine was parked outside, flanked by two mini vans bearing the company's bold inscription. It was a full-on corporate parade.

Zoey Scandova looked stunning in her ash-grey office trousers paired with a matching top and a sleek black inner vest. Her hair was pulled back into a high ponytail, and in her hand swung an expensive alligator-skin handbag that screamed, "I run things." Behind her, Corelle clutched her neatly organized files, trailing Zoey like a well-trained assistant.

Zoey slid gracefully into the limousine with Mr. Dominic and Leslie, while the rest of the entourage filled the vans. Ms. Precious wasn't going—she never did. Home was her kingdom.

They arrived in no time. The McKrapper Company was mega,we're talking factory side, office block, and even a shopping wing. A dazzling electric billboard flashed: "Welcome, Zoey Scandova." The staff greeted them warmly and ushered everyone into the ground-floor auditorium.

Zoey, unprepared yet poised, was called on stage for a speech. She delivered with elegance, thanking Mr. Dominic for the opportunity and ending on a hopeful, uplifting note:

"We're going to make it—together."

As the morning welcome event was in full swing, Mr. Dominic received a message: the International Product Recognition (IPR) team had just landed in the Philippines. That meant nominations could drop any day now.

With Zoey newly appointed as Head of Business and Finance, she would be representing McKrapper—if they qualified. If they did, this would be McKrapper's first-ever national qualification, and all eyes would be on her to make it count.

The applause thundered. She smiled politely and headed to her office—23rd floor, right across from Leslie's. Not bad for Day One.

Her first day wasn't as hectic as she feared. She even sealed a major deal with a new shopping mall in Manila and got them to pre-sign for the upcoming—yet-to-be-announced—I.P.R. program. A queen always stays ahead of the game.

Now, will they qualify for the IPR?
