Fragile

Days pass and while I continue my routine rion comtinues to visit the library everyday without fail, spending all day in the library reading.

Dad and craife ask him if wanted to join the training but he just answers a resolute "no" without thinking twice. I also pester him several time to come play or watch or even play games together but he just rejects me without a second thought.

It's been weeks now and my training has advanced a lot, I've learnt many new moves and have grown stronger that I can now even destroy a plank with one punch but with my only sparring partner being dad and craife, I can never get to execute my moves and even if I manage to do it, it doesn't even hurt them.

After training today I head to the library to study as always and maybe disturb rion a little i thought to myself as I chuckled a little to myself but just as I near the entrance of the library I see rion coming out of the library with a couple of heavy books on his right hand.

I stare a little before I ask "hey where are you going?" Rion answers immediately with his deadpan tone "To my room"

I look at the huge books he's carrying as I ask again "uhm, with these?" He answers "yes, father gave me permission to take any book out of the library" I scratch my chin saying "uhh... that's not exactly what I was asking but whatever I guess" he looks at me before he continues walking away.

I watch him walking away in a brisk pace from behind before an idea hits me like a jolt, I could spar with rion, since I'm stronger I'll just adjust my strength so that he won't get hurt, I thought to myself with a smile before I called out to him "hey rion, wait up" as I chased after him, I cover the distance quickly walking beside him before I say "hey rion, spar with me" he doesn't even raise his head to look at me as he says what I assume is his favourite word "no", I pester him trying to convince him but after several no's I sigh in resignation as I walk back in the direction of the library with my head hanging low.

As I walk back another thought crosses my mind, a sinister mischievous thought this time "If I attack him, he'll have no choice but to fight back" I thought to myself before I set off sprinting back after him.

I sprint back after rion who I see is almost at the main building, I continue towards rion clenching my hand in a fist as I get closer before stretching it as I reach him saying "hey rion, take this".

Rion turns just in time but I never feel my punch connect but a searing pain in my stomach that takes all my breath making me want to hurl all the food I've eaten as the force sends me flying back in the direction I came, I catch a glimpse of rion putting down an outstretched leg as I brace myself in anticipation as I feel myself getting closer to the concrete building at my back but just before I hut the building, I feel a pair of hands grasp my shoulders stoppping me instantly from hitting the building.

The hands gently put me down as I turn with a smile half expecting my father or craife, my smile falters as I see it was none other than rion, I turn and look back in the direction he was standing but all I see are the books he was carrying on the ground.

I turn back to rion again with confusion on my face asking "how..." before he interrupts my sentence with the blue eyes I've been seeing turning back to the white glazed eyes I've seen before as he says "my apologies, I didn't realize you we're so... so fragile"

With one last look at me he walks back and carrying his book as he goes in the house leaving me standing with a searing pain in my gut.
