I was looking at the agent contract sent from the other side on my phone.

A voice message from Cui Ni popped up on WeChat.

In a sweet voice, she said, "I'm sorry, Sister Wen Nan, Brother Gu insists on coming to my place to take care of me. It's my fault for delaying his art exhibition progress, please don't blame him."

Her intentions were all too obvious.

I was weary from dealing with it, but my gaze fell on Cui Ni's newly changed WeChat profile picture.

Upon zooming in, it was a pair of large hands with some faint paint traces, gently holding her face flushed from hives.

I knew those hands too well; they belonged to Gu Shaoxuan.

He really cares about her.

I closed the picture and quietly changed my wedding photo profile picture to a free-flying bird.

On the last day of the city art exhibition, I stayed backstage taking care of some finishing logistical work.

When I went to the front to take a group photo, I saw Gu Shaoxuan already standing at the center with Cui Ni in his arms.

Reporters praised:

"Mr. Gu and Mrs. Gu are truly in love. I've heard they've been married for seven years and are still so inseparable."

"Mrs. Gu looks so young. I've heard it's Mrs. Gu who manages Mr. Gu's studio and planned the art exhibition single-handedly. She's definitely a combination of beauty and wisdom!"

The two of them heard the praises naturally, but no one spoke up to explain.

Until Cui Ni saw me, suddenly looked tearful, and knelt down to me with a thump.

"Sister Wen Nan, I didn't mean to; I just haven't had a chance to explain! Brother Gu has what he does today all thanks to you; I wouldn't dare to steal your credit."

The sudden act made the atmosphere subtle, and the only sound was the shutter clicks around.

Gu Shaoxuan shielded Cui Ni without hesitation, "Wen Nan, do you have to be so aggressive?"

"Cui Ni has contributed a lot to this art exhibition. I just brought her out to show her face; it's normal to support newcomers."

He lowered his voice, "This is a public scene, don't make a fuss."

I didn't make a fuss, and I won't ever again.

I put on a courteous smile, helped Cui Ni up, and introduced her to the media.

The farce eventually passed under a facade of peace.

After the interview ended, I took out my phone to book a flight ticket, but Gu Shaoxuan snatched my phone away.

"You're booking a ticket? An international flight? How come I didn't know?"

He fired off three questions in a row, his brows furrowed in surprise.

"When did I have an art exhibition in Paris? Why didn't you tell me in advance?"
