Five years after marriage, my husband suddenly passed away due to asthma, leaving me and my son alone and helpless.
Friends lamented that I became a widow at such a young age, and my parents urged me to quickly remarry with my son.
However, I firmly disagreed and insisted on staying to mourn my husband.
But on the day of my husband's third anniversary, I unexpectedly heard my father-in-law angrily questioning my uncle:
"Clearly, it was your brother who had asthma and your brother who died, yet you pretended to be dead to take care of sister-in-law. Was it worth deceiving your own wife and children?"
"In these three years, Xiao Lin mourned for you, raising Lele alone. You gave your niece a home, but have you thought about this: from the day you pretended to be dead, Lele lost her father too."
At that moment, my blood ran cold, and I realized that the one who died three years ago was not my husband Zhou Zian, but his twin brother Zhou Ziping.
And my three years of mourning have been nothing but a joke.

I saw Zhou Zian standing at my doorstep with a brand new backpack.


The tag from an international store was still on the backpack, clearly it cost quite a bit of money.


"Lele, your uncle bought you an imported backpack as a reward for getting full marks in your exams. Check if you like it!"


My son glanced at me, then shook his head to refuse Zhou Zian.


"Thank you, Uncle, but I already have an old backpack that my mom sewed for me."

But I evaded him, telling him I was just his sister-in-law and that he should mind his boundaries, then went inside and closed the door.
