Cheat-like way of using Life magic

Underneath the partially destroyed building of the slums, two teenagers, looking 15 years of age, clashed with their fists.

The slightly taller teenager, standing at about 5 feet 8' smirked as his amethyst eyes caught sight of his opponent's, who stood at a height of 5 feet 7', moved and tilted his head, dodging a jab and punched at his opponent's side, causing the latter to reel in pain. Not for long though, because he moved backwards and sent a kick back at the former.

The taller teenager placed his arm before his face to block the attack and was forced to move a few feet backwards to mitigate the force behind that kick but the shorter teenager wasn't done. He quickly moved in, unleashing a barrage of punches that his opponent blocked with ease.

The two were, of course, Ezekiel and Vahn. They had been trading blows for about an hour now with no clear winners due to the fact that they were fighting using their fists only.

Normally, that wouldn't make sense. Because Ezekiel was supposed to be a Mechanic, even back on his world, pilots without their Battlesuit were only slightly stronger than normal human beings. So the fact that he could hold his own against a Mage was truly dumbfounding. This might have sounded alright since Mages were known to be the second most physically weak of the four Classes, but it didn't.

Just with the fact that Mages had access to Mana meant that the powerful energy would constantly flood their system, perfecting their bodies and granting them strength, albeit not even close to matching that of a Brawler. That meant that even the weakest F ranked Mage was still stronger than normal mortal people without access to Mana.

But Ezekiel was no normal Mechanic. He had been reincarnated with a system after all, one that allowed him to increase the power of his physical body. And although he knew he couldn't defeat a Brawler of his rank with his body alone, the mechanic was sure that he wouldn't be helpless without his equipment.

"Just fight with your main abilities already!" A young voice rang from outside the ring the two were battling in. She was a beautiful girl aged 13, with auburn hair and sharp emerald eyes. And from her beautiful face, one could find similarities between her and Vahn. She was his younger sister, Yuri.

Ezekiel smiled. "Well, you heard the lady." He jumped into the air, achieving a rather impressive height before reaching into his Dimensional ring and bringing out his Windchaser leg gear. His clothes disappeared to reveal a skintight body suit that clung to his body, revealing his defined muscles.

"Hmmph. They seem to be growing well." Laura harrumphed as she watched the two reveal battle intent smiles while they prepared themselves for the next round.

Yuri simply glanced at the two and sighed. "Boys." Before going back to cleaning the gun-like object in her hand with bright fascination.

Ezekiel smiled as he flipped his visor on. "Let's go easy for now. I'll start with my Prototype Gun Model." Soon the mechanic fully donned his gear. Above his white bodysuit was a pair of gauntlets that covered his arm all the way to his shoulders, with a holster strap at his hip which held two guns, a pair of rifles strapped to his back and his Windchasers which still stopped at his knees.

"Hehe." Vahn smiled. "Let's go." On his legs were a pair of Wind chasers while his palm featured a special pair of gloves Ezekiel had made him, equipment made to increase the lethality of his abilities.

"Sure, don't mind me then." The mechanic grabbed onto his right pistol, revealing its sleek surface with a white color and a golden streak running along its mid-section in the manner of a Chinese dragon. "Scatter Shot mode!"

His gauntlet hissed, releasing steam before uncovering multiple compartments that covered the entirety of its surface. Multiple calculations flashed on the screen of his visor but he let Laura handle that, allowing her to guide his hands to the most suitable paths. Soon, ten points highlighted themselves on his screen and he immediately burst into action. "Mechanic's Gun Technique!"

Psionic energy suddenly erupted from specific compartments of the gauntlet as Ezekiel controlled the equipment to boost his speed as he pulled the trigger multiple times while his hand moved in a flurry. "1st Move: Precise Frenzy!"

Vahn tensed a bit but ultimately revealed a smile. This was where the youngster's perverted use of the Life element came to play. Normally the Life element was deemed the most non battle oriented element a person could ever receive. This was because the element only had two main factors, to heal and to strengthen. This made Mages judge the element as a supportive type, not knowing the potential they were locking away.

Vahn's method of using his element was purely internal. Instead of healing and bolstering the strengths of others, he strengthened his own physical bodies. Surely others had definitely thought of this, unfortunately they discovered the limitations of this enhancement. It could only increase their strength once, ranging from about 10 to 100% depending on the strength of the Mage performing the enhancement.

Yes, increasing your body's strength by 50% was nice and all but what was that worth before a powerful fire ball that could fry your internal organs. So that idea of self enhancement had been shelved since the Life Mages had no way to battle other than that.

But that was where Ezekiel and his AI's knowledge of the human body came in. Using Life magic to increase your body's strength had a limit yes, but what if you only targeted specific organs. You could first increase the density of your bones then the muscle fibers connected to it and finally, the skin at the outermost layer. Wasn't this an increase of 150%? Could it even be called that? What if it wasn't additive but instead multiplied with each enhancement?

Vahn slightly crouched, his mana circulated while a portion of his Life element appeared at the surface of his skin, ready to heal any injury should the situation occur and another sunk deep into his body, enhancing the muscle fibers and tendons on his legs, while slightly manipulating his bones to be a bit hollow, vastly increasing his speed.

His figure blurred as he ran with an insane amount of speed, dodging the first bullet and appearing before the Mechanic. Yet as if Ezekiel had predicted his move, a bullet headed towards his new position, forcing him to raise his hands up, using his gauntlet to block the penetrative bullet.

The impact sent his upper body backwards but his feet managed to stay rooted onto the ground and beneath the gauntlet, he could feel that a bit of the impact had left quite a bruise on his skin. Without his command, the Life aura clinging to his skin swept over the area, leaving the spot unblemished.

Another bullet barreled towards him but the auburn haired teenager had already learnt his lesson. He gave up on enhancing his legs and focused on his fists, strengthening his skin and the muscles underneath. Unfortunately, he was unable to focus on more than two body parts to strengthen at the same time, but he could make do with it.

His fist shot back, the gauntlet releasing hissing sounds as compartments opened before an amethyst energy was ejected like jet fuel, aiding the speed of his punch as he released a barrage of fists upon Ezekiel.

The latter quickly retreated, knowing he had lost his advantage once Vahn got close to him.

Seeing this, Vahn smirked and glanced at Ezekiel who reciprocated. "Continue?"

"Why the hell not?"
