Chapter 306: Too Bad He Has a Mouth

"You two have been staring at me for a while now."

Rinji frowned at Fujiwara and Iino in front of him.

The two had been chatting closely for a while and then suddenly stared at his face in unison before sighing together.

Fujiwara said, "Sigh… such a shame…"

Iino replied, "Exactly."

Fujiwara added, "What a waste."

Iino nodded, "Totally."

"What do you mean 'waste'?! What are you even talking about?" Rinji's eyebrow twitched. "You sound like I'm terminally ill or something."

It was Rinji's second day back at Shuchiin Academy, and the school was preparing for the upcoming sports festival. Since it was still early, students weren't involved yet—only the student council and faculty.

Shirogane, as president, had gone to a meeting. Kaguya stayed in the classroom for her own matters. Ishigami used to play handheld games in the council room, but with the strict new morals officer Iino around, he had to find other spots to slack off.

At the moment, only Rinji, Fujiwara, and Iino were in the student council office.

"Actually, I think your face is super handsome," said Fujiwara. "Like a beautiful boy straight out of a manga."

Iino nodded. "Yeah, you look exactly like the prince I always imagined—ah, I mean, a textbook prince charming."

"...So you've been staring at me just to compliment me?"

"Not exactly…"

Fujiwara's eyes suddenly turned hollow.

"It took me two whole semesters to realize this. All thanks to the fact that Rinji has a mouth."

"..."

"Without talking, you'd be super popular. But paired with that face is one nasty personality. What a waste."

"So what now? Should I stop talking?"

"Of course not!!"

Fujiwara suddenly pulled out a whiteboard. Written on it was: 'The Great Rinji Reform Plan!'

"To turn Rinji into a truly popular pretty boy, we've decided to reform you starting today!"

"Reform? Are you trying to turn me into a cyborg? Isn't that what Shocker does?"

"Of course not. We just want to adjust your personality a little," Iino said. "You've been back at school two days, and everyone still fears you."

It was true.

Even after nearly a month, Rinji's reputation at school was still terrible.

Most students saw him negatively—he had threatened the entire school during the election, after all.

"I take partial responsibility for that," Iino said firmly. "So when Fujiwara-senpai said she wanted to do this, I agreed to help."

"...Got it. So Fujiwara wants to mess around and dragged you into it."

Rinji flopped onto the couch, looking indifferent.

"I don't see myself as some pretty boy. I'm a macho man, and everything I do reflects that image."

"Don't you want to be popular?"

"Not at all," Rinji grinned. "I only wanted popularity to get a girlfriend. Now that I have one, I don't care anymore."

"Uh-huh, and you two almost broke up just the other day."

"Shut it. Karura and I are doing great," Rinji said. "Besides, this is who I really am. I don't want to fake being polite."

"...I can see that. Rinji, you've lost all social awareness."

Fujiwara sighed and sat next to him.

"But this is really the only way to improve your reputation. We're not asking for a total personality shift—just some light tweaking."

"Tweaking?"

"Exactly~"

Fujiwara flipped the board around to reveal a list of tasks.

• No swearing

• Participate in community service to improve your image

"I can do the community service, but the first one…"

"Is not swearing really that hard for you?"

"You don't get it. That's just how I say hello."

"Then how about just one day? One day without swearing."

"I guess that's doable..."

Click!

The student council door burst open.

Tanuma Tsubasa, with dyed hair and earrings, barged in and looked around like he was searching for someone.

"Huh? Where's the president?"

Rinji said, "Knock before you enter, you fucking nig—"

Fujiwara Chika & Iino Miko: "Hmm?"

"—You little classmate. Watch your manners next time."

"Ah… sorry. I'll be more careful next time."

Tanuma scratched the back of his head and sat across from Rinji. He looked like something was really bothering him.

"Is there something you need, Tanuma?"

"Yes… I was actually looking for President Shirogane, but I think you might be able to help too, Rinji." Tanuma looked a bit desperate.

"Oh? Let's hear it."

"Well…" He suddenly lowered his head. "I think I had a fight with my girlfriend."

Rinji: "Good for you."

Iino: "Break up while you still can. A student's main focus should be studying."

Fujiwara: "Wait, wait! He came here to ask for advice!"

"Right, go ahead, Tanuma."

"Okay… Rinji, you're the only guy in the student council with a girlfriend. I thought maybe you'd understand. Have you ever argued with your girlfriend?"

"Nope."

"Huh? What about when she randomly gets mad?"

"Never."

"What about when she gets moody?"

"Still nope."

"What?" Tanuma stood up in shock. "Is your girlfriend even human?!"

"What the hell did you just say you gay-ass looking wannabe thug motherfucker—wanna say that again?!"

Fujiwara & Iino: "Hmm?"

"I deeply regret your situation. So how can I help?"

Tanuma: "...Is Rinji not here today?"

"So not swearing really makes that big a difference, huh?"
