Chapter Fifteen

The coyotes he’d engaged to watch over her barked louder as they moved closer to the cabin, moving in to protect him and his mate.

Good beasts.

Larimar had been so caught up in finding and claiming his mate, he’d almost forgotten why he was there to begin with. He had a job to do. First, he needed to reach out with his mind to the coyotes and the other animals he’d contracted to watch over the cabin.

Something had all the creatures in the area, big and small, all aflutter. His Wyvern perked up. The need to make sure she was safe was first on the beast’s mind—that above all else.

“Don’t leave the house. I’m just going to do a quick check of the perimeter.”

“Alright. I’d like to reach out to some contacts for any info I can find on Harold’s whereabouts or any mention of the artifacts he’d stolen,” she said and sat down with her laptop.
