Chapter Four

Blood thundered in his veins, roaring in his ears as Nicholas walked away, he could not be sure the little minx would follow, dominant as she was, but he sure as fuck hoped so.

It had been a long time since he’d met someone so interesting, too bad she was only looking for a temporary situation. Desperate as he was to settle his inner beast, Nicholas was a realist. No she-Wolf worth her salt would want someone as broken as he for a mate. He’d had this half-brained idea after Devine found his mate that he too could find happiness with a female.

Nicholas was wrong. Sure, he’d only spent a fortnight scouring bars and dating apps, but how long did a Dragon need to find his fated mate? No. If he was meant for a mate in this new world, he would have found her by now. It simply was not to be.

Besides, Minerva Lykos was not looking for a mate. Her indecent proposal had his Dragon—and other parts of him—more than a little bit curious. A holiday affair?

Hmmm. Yep. He could do that.
