Chapter Twenty-Nine-Maria&Luc

“You’re gonna be okay, sweetheart,” I coo to Anna who is sobbing uncontrollably in her hospital bed.

It was late when Giselle called me with Anna on the line. The latter was hysterical. She started spotting and was worried about the baby, so I told her to call an ambulance.

Luckily, we got there as they arrived, and Sisi and I both bullied our way into the vehicle.

Not like the EMTs were going to say no when there were six armed bodyguards with us.

In fact, one joined us in the back of the ambulance.

“Why the hell is it hot in here? I’m going to get a nurse,” Giselle says.

Luc texts me every fifteen minutes with an update and I am so relieved every time he does.

It’s been a week, and time has been crawling. But excitement fills me at the prospect of having him home.

“I can’t believe I made a big deal out of nothing,” Anna says, hiccuping from her crying bout.
