79. Second Cousin

Rodolfo and Yvonne left the police station and prepared to go to the Jazz Castle.

The Jazz Castle is some distance away from the town.

On the way, Rodolfo met a couple. Unexpectedly, they were Mayo and Bella, whom he had not seen for a long time.

  "Mayo, you've gained weight."

In the past, Mayo and Bella had a significant difference in size, but now, at a glance, they look like a couple.

"Oh, there's nothing I can do. My wife's cooking skills are really great!"

Yvonne glanced at Bella's hand. The ring on Bella's hand was shining brightly.

Yvonne looked at Mayo's hand again: "But why don't you wear your wedding ring?"

Facing Yvonne's question, Mayo rubbed his fingers:

"How should I put it? I gained weight too quickly. My wedding ring is a little small now. I sent it to the silversmith to expand the ring."

  "Fat too quickly?"

Indeed, Mayo's suit was stretched, and the buttons were a little overwhelmed. Rodolfo even suspected that if Mayo spoke faster, his buttons would fly off.

"Mayo, it's time to change your clothes."

"Yes, it's time to change. Mr. Patrolman, are you going to the Jazz Castle too?"

"Yes, do you have business to go to the Jazz Castle?"

Mayo shook his head: "No, I went to the Jazz Castle because Bella's brother is now a cavalryman in the Jazz Castle.

His brother said that Sir Jennifer will take them to fight in the next few days and go to the wilderness to clean up werewolves."

Rudolph didn't say much, but he felt that Jennifer was a little anxious.

In April, the cavalry of the Jazz Castle had just been wiped out.

It's only September now, and there are only 5 months of training. How can the cavalry form combat effectiveness?

Ordinary cavalry need at least 2 years of training to master basic combat skills.

No wonder the sheriff asked him to go to the Jazz Castle to have a look. In addition to the request from the Jazz Lady's pillow, Sir Jennifer's hasty decision also made the sheriff feel something was wrong.

Rudolph and others came to the Jazz Castle. Mayo and Bella went to see Bella's brother, and Rudolph went to the Jazz's study under the guidance of the maid.

The door of the study opened, and the first thing Rudolph saw was a young man standing by the window, with his chin slightly raised, staring at Rudolph and Yvonne who came in.

The sun shone on the man's back, so his facial features were covered in shadows.

"Jennifer, you must notify the police station. Is this the result you want?

Humph! The police station only sent two patrolmen? The sheriff didn't even come in person?

This is a contempt for the Jazz Castle and the nobility!

No wonder Grandpa asked me to come to Leman Town. Sure enough, with your ability, it's too much of a stretch to run a Jazz Castle."

Rudolph glanced at Jennifer behind the desk, not knowing who the person who just spoke was.

Disgust flashed across Jennifer's face, and she glanced at the man by the window:

"Cousin Henry, I hope you maintain the minimum etiquette of a knight. After all, these two patrolmen are our guests."

"Cousin Jennifer, I have great respect for you and my aunt.

However, I am confused and puzzled by your desire for the police station to intervene.

Since when did we knights need to consult a sheriff's opinion when doing things?

If it were just that, I might not be so angry.

But, look for yourself, the sheriff didn't come, but two patrolmen were sent!

This is because the Jazz Castle is too weak and is looked down upon by the local police station!"

  "Wait!" Rudolph interrupted:

"The police station sent me here, not because they don't value the Jazz Castle's request.

To be immodest, it's because the police station attached great importance to it, so they sent me here."     The man named Henry looked incredulous:

"Are all the people in the Leman Town Police Department such idiots?"

If it wasn't in the Jazz's study, even in the courtyard of the Jazz Castle, Rudolph would have taken action to teach this curly-haired Henry a lesson.

At this moment, the door of the study opened again.

A beautiful middle-aged woman entered the study.

  "Mother!"

Jennifer hurriedly got up and led her mother to the sofa with the maid.

And curly-haired Henry immediately changed his face:

"My dear aunt, why are you here? I will take care of this little thing for Jennifer."

Jennifer's mother, Mrs. Leisley, looked at Henry with a smile:

"My good nephew, thank you for running so far to help us. Without you, what would Jennifer and I do..."

Hearing this, Jennifer was very unhappy, but she couldn't say much.

Mrs. Leisley turned her head and looked at Rudolph and Yvonne.

"Sheriff Claude... Sheriff Claude, didn't he come?"

Henry also stared at Rudolph, and he knew that his aunt thought the same.

Rudolph didn't know how to answer. Judging from Mrs. Leisley's appearance, with a slightly plump but elastic face, a plump figure, and rippling eyes, Sheriff Claude liked this.

After thinking for a while, Rudolph said:

"Madam, I think you know why the sheriff can't come."

When Sir Jacques was alive, the sheriff didn't look for this lady very often. Rudolph guessed blindly that there must be some emotional reasons.

Sure enough, Mrs. Leisley lowered her head sadly and remained silent.

Rudolph felt that Sheriff Claude must have some extraordinary qualities that he didn't know about because he was not beaten to death by all the men in the town.

"But, Madam, please rest assured, I heard that the Sir Castle is preparing to sweep the werewolves again. I will replace the sheriff and help Sir Jennifer."

What embarrassed Rudolph was that Mrs. Leisley did not answer a word.

Obviously, Rudolph, an ordinary patrolman, was not favored.

Mrs. Leisley just said to Jennifer:

"Jennifer, if you don't break through and become a knight this time, then you should marry Henry as soon as possible.

Your grandfather is right. How can a knight not even be a knight?

Your second cousin Henry is a knight, and he can help us get through this difficult time.

There are werewolves, insect plagues, and increasingly disobedient farm druids.

It is better to wait until you marry Henry and then slowly get promoted. Henry is a level 1 knight, which is enough to maintain the dignity of the knight's castle."

Henry's face was full of smiles.

Yes, if a knight is just a knight's squire, then even the people on his own farm will not respect their lord.

Rudolph glanced at the curly-haired Henry, the second cousin, this is a special identity, and should be a descendant without inheritance rights from Mrs. Leisley's family.

For Henry, being a knight is obviously much better than being a cavalry captain in his own family.

Rudolph shook his head and was not going to say anything else.

The fact that the knight's castle has so many farms and fertile land has nothing to do with whether the knight is a knight or not. It's just because their ancestors were nobles. Jennifer doesn't need to be so anxious. The town is used to it anyway and won't say anything.
