To Ruin You

As Ayesha stepped into the cool night air, her nerves grew tighter with each step. The wind rustled through the trees, and the campfire's glow flickered across the encampment, casting long shadows on the tents and figures moving about.

She turned at the largest tent near the centre, the Alpha King's. Her pulse quickened as she thought, 'Would he… claim her tonight?'

She had braced herself for that possibility. After all, they were mates. And instinct ran deep when it came to fated mates. She could sense how much he desperately desired her in the way he looked at her.

'Or maybe… he won't,' she thought with a flicker of uncertainty. 'I just had a miscarriage.'
