Chapter 14: Arrival at Tiandou City

Several days later—

A carriage was slowly making its way through the bustling streets of Tiandou City.

Inside, the curtains of the carriage were pulled aside as Ye Xi and Tian Yao looked out the window, observing the streets on either side.

Tiandou City was indeed prosperous, though still somewhat lacking in comparison to Spirit City.

"Second Miss, where shall we go now?"

From the front of the carriage, Yang Wushuang asked Ye Xi, seated inside.

"After being cooped up in a carriage for so long, I'm a bit tired."

"Let's find an inn and settle down first," Ye Xi replied simply, her deep blue eyes still observing the surroundings of Tiandou City.

"Yes, Second Miss."

Yang Wushuang acknowledged and steered the carriage toward the city's most prosperous district.

Before long, the carriage came to a stop in front of a luxurious hotel.

Its golden, opulent decor gave off an unmistakable sense of extravagance at first glance.

After getting off the carriage, the group booked four rooms and then gathered in Ye Xi's room.

Seated comfortably, Ye Xi turned her piercing blue gaze toward Yang Wushuang.

"Yang Wushuang, I'll need your help with something."

"Head to the local Spirit Temple and inform the Platinum Bishop that I need intelligence on Tiandou City. Also, find out the location of Poison Douluo Dugu Bo's residence and see if there are any manors for sale in the city."

Ye Xi took out the Angel Token from her storage bracelet and handed it to Yang Wushuang.

After all, this was her first time out training in the world, and the local temple members might not recognize her. With the Angel Token in hand, things would go much more smoothly.

"Yes, Second Miss. I'll head to the Spirit Temple shortly."

Yang Wushuang accepted the token without hesitation.

"Tian Yao sister, Elder Ling Yuan, you both should go rest as well."

"This journey has been quite exhausting."

Ye Xi's gaze shifted to the two women.

"All right."

"Then we'll go rest for a while."

Tian Yao and Ling Yuan nodded and exited the room along with Yang Wushuang.

Once they had left, Ye Xi leaned back and collapsed onto the bed, quickly falling into a deep sleep.

Meanwhile, Yang Wushuang made his way toward the Spirit Temple.

Located on the city's main avenue, the temple was not far from where Ye Xi and the others were staying.

In just two or three minutes, Yang Wushuang had arrived at the Spirit Temple. With the Angel Token in hand, he moved through the premises without obstruction.

He soon arrived at the office of the Platinum Bishop, Salas, and pushed the door open without knocking.

Salas, who had been sorting through some documents, was about to lash out at the unannounced visitor—until he saw the Angel Token in Yang Wushuang's hand.

"My lord, is there something you require of the Spirit Temple?"

Salas bowed respectfully upon recognizing the token and asked in a calm voice.

"Second Miss requires intelligence on Tiandou City, including the current residence of Poison Douluo Dugu Bo. She's also looking for available manors in the city."

Yang Wushuang took a seat and closed his eyes, beginning to rest.

"Please wait a moment, my lord."

Salas bowed and left the room to pass down the necessary instructions.

Roughly half an hour later, Salas returned with all the requested information and handed it over to Yang Wushuang.

"My lord, everything you requested has been prepared."

"Shall I have someone deliver it to your residence?"

"No need."

"I'll take it back myself."

Yang Wushuang opened his eyes, stood up, and took the documents from Salas before heading back toward the hotel.

As he watched Yang Wushuang leave, Salas fell into brief thought.

Soon after, he returned to his seat, recorded what had just happened, and tied the message to a messenger falcon.

The falcon took flight from the Spirit Temple and headed toward the royal palace of Tiandou City.

Its wings flapped swiftly, and in about ten minutes, it had arrived at the Crown Prince's residence.

"A messenger falcon?"

"Why would Salas send a message when nothing's going on?"

She Long extended his hand, letting the falcon land on it, and took the letter before heading inside.

"What now?"

A pleasant voice sounded from within the palace chambers.

"Young Master, a message has arrived from Salas,"

She Long placed the letter on the table inside the room.

"Salas?"

"Why would he send me a message?"

Qian Renxue's golden eyes reflected her puzzlement, but she still picked up the letter to read it.

After finishing, her hand emitted a soft golden soul power, and the letter disintegrated into fine dust.

"So... my little sister whom I've never met is here in Tiandou City,"

Qian Renxue said softly, her eyes reflecting thoughtful contemplation.

"Sister?"

"You mean Second Miss?"

She Long muttered.

When they had left Spirit City, Qian Daoliu had yet to bring Ye Xi back to Spirit Hall, so neither of them had ever met her.

But they had heard of Ye Xi from letters exchanged over time.

"Hm… Since she's here, I might as well meet her."

"For our first meeting, as her elder sister, I can't show up empty-handed."

"She Long, prepare some gifts. We'll visit her tonight."

A trace of emotion flickered in Qian Renxue's pale golden eyes.

"Yes, Young Master,"

She Long bowed respectfully and quietly took his leave to prepare.

Once he had gone, Qian Renxue crossed her legs, propping her head up with one hand.

"Ye Xi, the Angel of Slaughter… born with full innate soul power…"

"It's been so long—finally, I get to meet you."

She murmured to herself, eyes filled with anticipation.

In letters from Qian Daoliu, Ye Xi was often praised.

If not for her own obligations in Tiandou City, she would've long returned to meet her so-called sister.

Now that Ye Xi had come to her, she finally had that chance.

Meanwhile—

Just as Yang Wushuang returned to the hotel and was about to knock on Ye Xi's door, he saw the door to Ling Yuan's room open.

"Second Miss is currently sleeping. Best not to disturb her right now,"

Ling Yuan said gently after glancing at the items in Yang Wushuang's hands.

"You can give them to her once she wakes up."

"Understood,"

Yang Wushuang nodded, then turned and returned to his own room with the documents.
