Felisha

Lydia's POV

Hearing the words from the man in front of me startled me he's the Alpha of this pack… and my mate?

When he first appeared before me, I had been terrified to the core. My vision blurred, and before I knew it, I was pulled into unconsciousness.

Now, the idea of having the Alpha of this pack the one who separated me from my family as my mate made my stomach twist with unease.

After questioning him, I repeated his words in disbelief. "Mate?"

He looked at me and smiled. "Yes, you're my mate," he confirmed, reaching out to hold my hand.

I immediately withdrew from his grasp, refusing to have anything to do with him. His eyes darkened with a flicker of sadness, and for a brief moment, I had the strange urge to console him. I quickly scolded myself for even considering it.

Sitting up, I avoided his intense gaze. "Stop staring," I commanded.

He chuckled heartily. "Don't be shy. I won't hurt you," he said, climbing onto the bed and moving closer.

Instinctively, I shifted backward until my back hit the bed frame. His face hovered near mine, his warm breath fanning against my skin, sending an unexpected shiver down my spine.

"Don't…" I whispered, fearing he would kiss me.

I had never been this close to a man before not even in my past life. My fiancé and I had never shared any intimate moments, making this entire situation feel foreign and overwhelming.

His lips twitched at my words, and he pulled away. I could see the pain in his eyes, but I told myself it had nothing to do with me.

Without another word, he left the room.

I remained on the bed, staring at the ceiling. By the time the early morning light started creeping in, exhaustion finally overtook me, and I allowed myself to sleep.

When I woke up to the bright morning light, I found a girl an Obryn standing close to me. As soon as our eyes met, she bowed and smiled warmly.

"Good morning, Luna," she greeted cheerfully.

Luna? The word felt foreign on my tongue.

"My name is Lydia," I corrected her.

She shook her head in disagreement. "No… I'm not permitted to call you that. You are our Luna now," she responded firmly.

I nodded in realization, understanding that as the Alpha's mate, my status and title had changed.

The young maiden served me a sumptuous meal, and though I initially hesitated, I couldn't refuse I was famished. The food was unfamiliar, unlike anything I had eaten before, but I couldn't deny that it tasted delicious.

After finishing my meal, I sat for a while before several maidens entered to assist me with my bath. The experience was overwhelming and a bit uncomfortable. In my past life, I had been wealthy, but this bathing style felt outdated and foreign to me.

Once I was bathed, I was taken to a large dressing chamber filled with an array of elegant clothing. After browsing through the options, I selected a beautiful yellow gown that complemented my personality. The fabric flowed gracefully to the floor as the maidens ushered me back to my room.

My hair was styled into a neat bun, with a single strand left to frame my face. By the time the preparations were complete, it felt like an eternity had passed.

Soon after, I was led to the garden a breathtaking space filled with vibrant flowers of every kind. Birds flew freely above, their songs blending harmoniously with the gentle rustling of the wind, creating an atmosphere of peace and beauty.

As I wandered deeper into the garden, I spotted the Alpha's mother seated gracefully among a group of women who were tending to her. When her eyes met mine, she smiled warmly, and I returned the gesture.

From the first day I met her, she had given me a good impression. Despite my status as an Obryn, she had shown me kindness a rare thing in this place.

She motioned for me to sit beside her, and I bowed respectfully before taking my seat.

"I am so happy that you are my son's mate," she said, her voice filled with warmth. "Kaidon has been searching for his mate for a long time, and I am grateful that fate finally brought you to him, even in the midst of hardship."

Her words made me freeze in place.

If Kaidon had found me under different circumstances, perhaps I would have shared in her happiness. But being abducted, torn away from my family, and thrown into this unfamiliar world was a reality I couldn't ignore. The pain of separation still haunted me.

I remained silent as she waved her hand, dismissing the women who had been tending to her. Once they left, she sighed softly before continuing.

"I'm not forcing you to be close to my son, but I believe that with time, you'll come to understand the mate bond and everything it entails," she said, her voice gentle and reassuring.

Then, she asked a question that made my heart skip a beat.

"Have you transformed?"

I lowered my head, feeling a sudden wave of sadness. "No..." I admitted quietly. The realization that I hadn't yet transformed weighed heavily on me, making me feel incomplete.

Instead of mocking me, she reached for my hand, her touch warm and comforting.

"I understand," she said kindly. "Don't worry, you'll transform soon."

Her reassurance brought a small, unexpected smile to my lips.

"Thank you," I said politely, and she nodded. She was about to speak when an Obryn servant approached, placing a tray of fresh fruits on the table.

"Your Majesty, your order is ready," the girl said her voice familiar .

"Felisha?" I muttered, disbelief washing over me.

Felisha's eyes widened in recognition before a small, amused smile played on

her lips. I could tell she was just as surprised to see me here as I was to see her.
