Chapter 6

The cell was quiet when i came back. Not like it wasn't quiet before but the presence of another person made it less lonely than it feels now. The cell door clicked shot and the guard sneered at me before leaving me alone with my thoughts.

I sat on the cold damp floor, the bleakness of my future weighing me down.

What now? I know the Alpha won't kill me...yet but what am I suppose to do until he decides otherwise. Will I spend the rest of my life in this cell? Am I going to die here or is Alpha Bastian going to save us all from this ruthless Alpha?

Don't be ridiculous. I'm sure Alpha Bastian will barely even remember me talkless of saving me. I'm sure he'll be glad that I've been taken off his hand and I'm no longer a liability to his pack.

My fate is in the hands of this Alpha. Who knows what he'll decide to do with me. Who knows if I'd be treated worse than I was on the moonbeam pack. My future has always been predictable...at least until the attack. Now I don't know where to go from here and I'm not even sure if I want to

Alpha Kaelith

Air whistled through the fur of his obsidian wolf as his paws pounded against the earth with bone-jarring force. The forest blurred around him--streaks of green and shadow bleeding into one another--but Kaelith didn't slow.

His wolf had been tense for days, restless. The tension from the war has built up like a storm inside him. But he had managed to control it, to restrain the beast in him

But those eyes. They had silenced his beast within. For one fragile, fleeting moment, he'd breathed. Truly breathed.

But peace never lasted for monsters like him.

The second he tore himself from her presence, the restraint shattered.

Now his wolf was loose, savage and snarling, tearing through the undergrowth like a shadowed inferno. Branches whipped past, some snapping beneath his sheer size, others slicing across his thick fur. He didn't feel it tho, it grounds him.

He still have a bit of control tho, even in his wolf form.

His wolf picked up a familiar, faint of magnolia and he could tell who it was instantly. A brown wolf appeared from within the trees, it's tail wagging and tongue out in an open, teasing grin.

And then she ran.

A growl rumbled deep in his chest, low and eager. And since his wolf was naturally competitive, It was a perfect distraction from his bloodlust.

He lunged forward, his large frame bursting into motion. Trees whipped past him in a blur as he gave chase, the ground trembling beneath his weight. She is quick--always had been--but she knew better than to think she can outrun him.

She darted to the right, weaving effortlessly between tree trunks, her lean form built from years on the battlefield move with speed and agility. Kaelith followed, less graceful but far more powerful, his massive paws shredding the underbrush with every bound.

His wolf snarled in exhilaration as she looped around a boulder and doubled back, forcing him to pivot sharply to stay on her trail. Her bark echoed through the trees, sharp and mocking. He let out a huff in response, something you can say is equivalent to a smirk.

When he decided he was done playing, he took a large leap, his massive self landing on the smaller wolf. The brown wolf let of a ' ooph' sound and he turned to the right, releasing her from his dead weight.

The two wolves laid said by side, breathing heavily.

" That was refreshing". A short haired, toned woman emerged from the woods in a short and a small bralette. She handed over the white shirt in her hands to the half naked Alpha, gesturing she doesn't need it.

Demi Garrett is a beautiful woman and she knows it. Her body is built like a warrior but on a more feminine side . She has the ability and strength to take down men twice her size and she has proved her stance by Alpha Kaelith side for years she became the Gamma.

She's known as the grim reaper on the battlefield. A nickname she gained for being so meticulous on the battlefield. She never let an enemy lives, death is only their option when they come across her. A lot of rumors circulated her and Kaelith. A lot of rumors that they didn't bother to address.

Her eyed him as he put in his shirt " What got to you today? It's been a while since you got Kale out".

" Nothing. Just stressed over it all". He grumbled, starting off without her.

Demi chuckled, her long legs catching up to him in seconds " Let him out sometimes. Else he'll drive you mad".

Kaelith only nod, acknowledging her reference to his wolf. He stopped in his tracks when he remembered the main reason why his wolf went berserk. " No reports on Alpha Bastian yet?".

Demi's eyebrows arched perfectly but she was not surprised by the switch of conversation. Alpha Kaelith never knows how to fully relax with going into Alpha mode. " We've sent the best trackers out there but I'm afraid they are yet to find him. That bastard got away before we could even get through their barriers".

His jaw clenched, clearly not happy about the report " The prisoners. Have them all interrogated tomorrow. I'm thinking of having them assigned to the pack house. They'll work there at first and if they can prove their loyalty, I'll have them initiated into the pack".

He paused for a while, his mind suddenly reshuffling a certain green eyed girl back to his head. He doesnt know what it is but she unnerves him. And drives him crazy since he can't sense her wolf to make her submit or at least figure out what it is about her that calmed his wolf.

He has to figure her out, somehow. Thats when he came to a decision " The green eyes girl you saved. I want her assigned to my house "." She's the most suspicious, it'll better to keep a close eyes on her myself". At least that's what he told himself for
