Ethan POV
Emma's howl hit me like a punch to the chest while I was fixing my truck in the workshop.
I dropped my wrench and grabbed my phone, already calling Lily's number. The sound Emma had made wasn't normal. It was pure fear mixed with power I'd never heard from any werewolf, let alone a four-year-old.
"Pick up, pick up," I whispered as the phone rang.
"Ethan?" Lily's voice was terrified. "Did you hear that? Where's Emma? She was supposed to be with Victoria today!"
My blood turned cold. "What do you mean with Victoria?"
"They went to visit another pack. Some kind of playdate. But that howl... that was Emma, wasn't it?"
I was already running toward my truck. "Where did they go? What pack?"
"I don't know! Victoria just said it was a few hours away. Oh God, Ethan, something's wrong. I can feel it."
The mate bond between us was yelling danger. Every sense I had was telling me to find Emma right now.
