New Class D?

Leaving the cold beauty behind, Kaiser leisurely walked towards the dorms—eyes scanning the figures of several students passing by. By their presence, he quickly differentiated freshmen from the upperclassmen—after all, the difference between a Dormant Human and an Awakened Human was undeniable.

With a bit of facial expression reading, he realized something.

'The upperclassmen are hesitant about interacting with the first years. Curious~'

However, he reigned in his curiosity. This was enough for him to deduce that the school was hiding something. He'd find out later, for now, he decided to head to the dormitory.

The students dormitory was divided into three different buildings—each for a grade.

Entering the first year building, he was met with a lot of students in the lobby. Then, ignoring their chit-chat, he stepped into the elevator. Ding!

After a few minutes, he arrived at the fourth floor and proceeded to room 404—a very unlucky number.

Ignoring such baseless thoughts, Kaiser opened the door with the face-unlock, then entered.

The room was surprisingly large, at least larger than a regular dorm room. It possessed a small toilet and bathroom, an open balcony, and a small kitchen properly furnished.

'These people are flaunting money, aren't they?'

He sighed, spotting a deep freezer and a mini fridge in the kitchen.

Without much care, he dropped his luggage containing a few things he brought from 'home'. Inside the small suitcase were a few casual clothes and a pair of beautiful black daggers.

Retrieving them, he observed the runes.

[Cursed Daggers]

Unlike other relics, this was a treasure forged by his family. A heirloom to be precise.

Dismissing them into his soul, he quickly ate a noodle cup he had gotten from the Violet Mall, then entered the bathroom to freshen up.

Minutes later, he changed into comfortable clothes and lay on the bed, ready to enjoy this rare moment of peace in his lives.

.....

"Dad..."

"Daddy..."

"Daddy!!!"

Kaiser jerked awake from the strange dream, feeling a sense of nostalgia and sadness.

"Who is that girl?"

He thought when he realized that the voice in his dream was feminine.

'Whatever.'

Standing up from the bed, he went into the bathroom to brush his teeth and wash his face. Staring at his own reflection, memories of how he got to this point flashed before his eyes.

'Hah~ those old geezers must be complaining to dad non-stop. Still, I wonder how Amaya's doing.'

Calling upon the runes, the blue hologram appeared in his vision.

...

The class was half full in the morning when three unknown students of the third year barged in quite rudely. They assessed the class with a disdainful gaze before one of them spoke up.

"So these are the new Class-D?"

Another one smirked, "They are more shitty than the previous ones."

Liam, feeling aggrieved rose up from his seat and faced them.

"Sorry for being rude but you badmouthing our class is unacceptable"

"Huh?" A senior with spiky yellow hair said with a stunned look.

The other senior looked amused but said nothing while the last one, who had said nothing moved directly before the class.

"You must be new, so you don't know how the school runs. It's not the school for spoilt kids with lack of home training. It's for smart people. If you're dull, you're useless." He said with an amicable smile on his face, though the scar running down his face ruined it.

"In a month, you'll be entering the Nirad Realm to Awaken. I wish you best of luck. See those that survive later"

Saying that, he made his way towards the door only to stop a step from leaving. Looking at the class again, he realized everyone was looking at him with various emotions. Some rage, some amusement, confusion, irrigation and some calmness. Everyone except one boy with unremarkable features. The boy seemed even unaware of his presence in the class as he was concentrated on a book in his hands.

Feeling annoyed, the senior uncorked a pen and flinged it with chilling accuracy towards the boy's head.

To his utter shock, the boy calmly tilted his head, dodging the pen as it struck the wall hard.

'H-how?'

For once, the boy, Kaiser never raised his head from the book to glance at his attacker.

'Looks like I have underestimated these gremlins.'

With a cold smile, he left the class with his entourage—leaving behind a group of confused fresher's.

Hazel's calm gaze rippled as she turned her head away from the door to the pen broken on the floor behind Kaiser.

'This guy' She thought 'Is he stronger than me?'

No, it wasn't possible. Though, during the evaluation it seemed like he had been the one with the best results, she hadn't given it her all too.

"No comment?" She asked without looking at him.

At first, he seemed to ignore her for a few seconds until he spoke.

"No."

"Guessed so," She replied. "But their information is quite unnerving, isn't it?"

"It is." He said as he closed the book. Raising his head, he calmly regarded the murmurs around him before closing his eyes.

"Though, that's not the main point is it?" He added.

Hazel, satisfied, finally turned her brown eyes towards him. "Why didn't you react?"

"It's too much of a hassle"

Kai's blunt reply left her mind reeling in shock.

'A-a hassle? Does that mean he has no urge to retaliate?' She thought.

"So you're the lazy type" She realized.

"If necessary." Kai added.

Sigh. She really disliked lazy men.

Hazel was starting to feel exasperated, when someone approached them.

Kai paused slightly, contemplating whether to disregard or regard the presence of the new person.

Finally, he looked up at the girl with blonde hair and green eyes. Her eyes held an angelic warmth as she smiled at the two of them.

"Hi, I'm Isabella Wayne"
