Some time later—and after the chugging of more than 10 Low-rank Body Tempering Potions—Nylon successfully made a breakthrough into the Middle Bronze Body Realm. In terms of the Energy Path, this was the equivalent of the high Juggernaut Plane.
Not satisfied with just this, Nylon continued to absorb the contents of dozens more Low-rank Body Tempering Potions. They, just like Spiritual Stones and the like, became less effective the more one took. But even that restriction wasn't enough to stop the one who could multiply every conceivable resource.
WAAA!
Late Bronze Body Realm – Achieved!
Nylon's hidden layer of skin had taken on a very dark shade of brown. Defensive capabilities were increased manifold. Muscle density exploded in potential. Even his skin's deflective abilities had improved by leaps and bounds, making it nearly impossible for most sharp weapons to actually challenge his first skin layer.
"I can feel the power of the Bronze Body begin to intrude upon my innards," Nylon noted. "That means my organs will soon be refined by the cultivation of my Body."
His Body Cultivation was already in the Invincible Plane boundary, but he had yet to even reach the Peak of the Bronze Body Realm. At this rate, by the time he perfected his Bronze Body and commenced the refinement of his organs, his Body Cultivation would have long since broken into the Mystery Plane equivalent.
Of course, that time was not now, as all that was left of dozens of Low-rank Body Tempering Potions were a bunch of useless empty vials…
Hearing the chirping of birds, Nylon shifted his attention to his window. Although the sun had yet to come out, it certainly wouldn't take much longer.
"Without even noticing the passing of time, I made it to morning." Nylon couldn't help but awe at the mystical act of cultivation, where the line between time and one's handle on reality seemed to fade.
Rising from his |Supreme Absorption Mat| in a whimsical kind of mood, he stretched. After doing that for a few seconds, he left his Guest House.
He assumed he would be the only one up so early in the morning, but as it turned out, Tessa was an early riser. Then again, she didn't look to be that good of a morning person, as she kept on nodding off while walking around as if in a daze.
"My Lady," Nylon greeted respectfully, bowing ever so slightly. "Did you enjoy the applecake I left for Amary to give to you? If not, then I'm sorry for my mistake—"
*Puff!*
Surprising him greatly was the feeling of something soft and squishy running into him. It was Tessa, who could barely keep her eyes open while squishing her face up against Nylon. Her cute face peeked up at him, her lethargic look to die for.
"Nyylooon… Soo cozy, hehe~" Tessa giggled, smiling like an adorable red panda bear. "Neverrr leave me again, k…? Annd nooo biiitches…! I kiiilll them…!!"
Nylon was slightly surprised by her forwardness and sudden affection at first, but now he had pretty much figured out that she wasn't thinking straight right now. It was highly likely that a lack of sleep was the culprit of this current condition of hers.
Just as Nylon was pondering what to do about her in a way that gave as little backlash back to himself as possible, another early riser walked by.
"Ho~?" Amary instantly misinterpreted the situation, and after slyly smirking, ran off with a hamper stuffed to the brim with dirty clothes.
Silence…
"Hurm~?" Tessa was beginning to regain lucidity, rubbing her eyes like a sleepy kitty. "Doggy…?"
She could've sworn Nylon was actually standing there, existing in more than just her dreams. However, after getting a better look, she realized there was nothing except for a log sitting in front of her.
'How… weird…'
Rubbing her head in confusion, Tessa walked away from the log. She was in search of Amary, hoping to discuss the strategy she should use for her walk (date) today. There was also the matter of what to wear, which weighed heavily on her lovesick mind.
After making sure the coast was clear, Nylon walked around the side of a large oak tree. He was glad that 'trick' of his worked so well, for it would've been a disaster if Tessa caught on to something and remembered what she had been doing during her unusual sleepwalking session.
"I should go prepare for that… walk I'm going on today," Nylon said while already in the process of changing his clothes on the well-shrouded backside of the Guest House. His Inventory provided him all the nice clothing he needed, ensuring that he was at least presentable for this outing.
Not long later…
Donned in a tight black dress shirt with loosened buttons and similarly tight black pants, Nylon felt this to be acceptable. He looked like he was about to attend a fancy dinner, which he believed to fit the occasion quite well.
After walking around to the visible side of the Guest House, Nylon saw the two troublesome combat maids out of the corner of his eye. Maya and Saria: two little she-devils who seemed to make it their life's purpose to torment him with useless banter whenever they got the chance.
"Best to ignore them," said Nylon as he turned around.
Unfortunately, they had already seen him and were now shouting at him.
He pretended not to hear…
They kept on shouting, even starting to sprint in his direction.
In the end, Nylon knew this encounter was inevitable. They were like NPCs with non-skippable dialogues.
"Hey, you idiot, why were you running away from us??" Maya, the shorter maid, questioned Nylon as soon as they caught up to him.
"Me? Run away? I haven't a clue what you're talking about." Nylon averted his gaze, clearly toying with the Combat Maids.
"You…!" Maya grumbled, pointer finger outstretched.
Saria wasn't as boldly outgoing as her younger sister, but she wasn't exactly fond of Nylon at the moment either. What the two siblings did share, however, was a nagging frustration—a mutual resentment toward how clearly the Steward seemed to reject them.
They didn't know why, but they really didn't like it!
