Chapter 208: Happy Event

Civil Affairs Bureau.

Getting out of the car, Xiao Yu held Chen Mo's hand tightly as they walked into the Civil Affairs Bureau. Every time she looked at his side profile, her heart softened. In her eyes, he was her entire world.

Chen Mo turned slightly, catching the look in her eyes. He reached out and gently patted her head.

"Do I look that handsome to you?" he teased.

"You forgot to shave," Xiao Yu said with a smile, her tone playfully scolding—this side of her only ever showed when she was with Chen Mo.

The registration office was on the third floor. It was Saturday, and the place was crowded with couples beaming with excitement, all waiting to register their marriages.

After taking a form and a number slip, Chen Mo sat down beside Xiao Yu in the waiting area, blending in with the crowd like any ordinary couple.

About an hour later, their number was called.

As they approached the registration counter, the staff member behind the desk looked up, a flicker of recognition flashing in his eyes.

"You look familiar... have we met before?" he asked Chen Mo curiously.

"Have we?" Chen Mo smiled faintly. "Don't tell me I've registered here once before? This is definitely my first time."

The staff member chuckled. "Just déjà vu, I guess."

As he glanced over Chen Mo's documents, his eyes landed on the name: Chen Mo. His pupils contracted slightly.

Chen Mo?

The name matched the face lingering in his memory. The next moment, realization hit, and excitement lit up his eyes. He looked up sharply at Chen Mo.

"Ssshhh—" Chen Mo put a finger to his lips, gesturing for silence.

"Mr. Chen Mo," the man—Li Yongheng—lowered his voice immediately, barely containing his excitement. He never expected to meet the legendary genius in person.

None of the other couples around had any idea that the most brilliant young entrepreneur in the country—one of the wealthiest men in China—was quietly lining up like everyone else.

If he hadn't seen the name on the ID, he never would've believed it.

If word got out that Chen Mo was registering his marriage today, it would send shockwaves through the country. Countless girls would probably cry themselves to sleep. After all, he was regarded as the most eligible bachelor in China, the dream husband of millions.

Chen Mo's status meant that, with a single word, hundreds of women would line up from here to the city center. And yet, here he was, marrying young—before thirty, no less.

What kind of woman could capture his heart?

Out of curiosity, Li Yongheng glanced toward Xiao Yu.

Today, she wore a simple ponytail with two loose bangs framing her face. She was dressed in the same couple outfit as Chen Mo. While not a breathtaking beauty, her features were delicate and pleasing—her aura was graceful and bright, like a quietly dazzling gem.

So this was the woman who had captured Chen Mo's heart.

There had always been rumors of a mysterious girlfriend, but no one had ever confirmed her identity—until now.

"Discreetly," Chen Mo said with a soft smile.

"Of course," Li Yongheng nodded solemnly. He understood this wasn't something he could gossip about. "Do you have your photos? Three copies."

"Yes." Xiao Yu handed over three red-background photos from her purse. In them, she leaned gently against Chen Mo, her smile sweet and content.

A few minutes later, Li Yongheng solemnly handed over the two red marriage certificates.

"Congratulations to both of you."

"Thank you."

As Chen Mo took the certificate, an indescribable emotion rose in his chest.

From the moment he met Xiao Yu, everything had moved so fast. But his feelings for her had always been clear—love, protection, and now, responsibility. Marriage wasn't just romance. It was also trust, commitment, and a promise.

Beside him, Xiao Yu held her certificate tightly, smiling like a fool. Pure happiness overflowed from her.

"Let's go take the vow," Chen Mo said, rubbing her head.

"Okay," Xiao Yu replied, letting him lead her away from the desk.

Half an hour later, Chen Mo and Xiao Yu emerged from the Civil Affairs Bureau. Xiao Yu looked at Chen Mo tenderly. From today on, the man beside her was her entire future.

"What do you want for your birthday?" Chen Mo asked as they walked to the car.

Lately, he'd been too busy—with the superconducting computer rollout and the robot situation—to spend much time with her. Today was the perfect time to make it up to her.

"I want to go to the beach," Xiao Yu said, eyes sparkling with anticipation.

Chen Mo raised an eyebrow in surprise. "That's what you want?"

"You make it sound like it's outrageous," Xiao Yu laughed. "You don't want to go?"

"Go? Of course we're going. Today, you're the boss. We'll go wherever you want," Chen Mo said, squeezing her hand with a smile.

At the company, Zhao Min sat in her office, going through documents. The Smart City project with Binhai City had entered its detailed planning stage. The core of the urban brain was artificial intelligence, so naturally, she handed it off to Chen Mo and the intelligent development team.

The unmanned vehicle project was also progressing smoothly. Globally, tech giants like Umbrella Corporation, Tesla, and ThousandFace were racing for dominance in the autonomous vehicle market. Chen Mo didn't pay them much mind, but Zhao Min certainly did.

After all, apart from the computer operating system, nearly all the company's core technologies came from Chen Mo. That mad genius was the foundation of their success.

Thinking of him, Zhao Min paused and walked over to the office window, gazing out at the Marching Ant headquarters below.

"I wonder where those two are enjoying themselves now…"

Truthfully, Zhao Min felt a trace of envy toward Xiao Yu.

The girl had snagged the best man around.

But she had to admit—Chen Mo and Xiao Yu were perfect for each other.

Xiao Yu was gentle and thoughtful, probably the kindest woman Zhao Min had ever met. She balanced Chen Mo's overwhelming brilliance with her quiet warmth.

Just then, her assistant knocked and stepped in, beaming with excitement.

"President Zhao, we have good news!"

Zhao Min turned around, raising an eyebrow. "Good news?"

"There was a fire in a building in Hangzhou," the assistant began.

Zhao Min's expression darkened. "That's good news? Are you trying to get fired?"

Panicking, the assistant quickly corrected herself. "There were no casualties! More importantly, one of our company's Enchantress robots saved a baby from the fire!"

She handed Zhao Min a printout of the news story and photos, courtesy of Vice President Li.

One image showed the blackened silhouette of a robot standing beside a baby's crib. Though its body was scorched by smoke, the robot remained standing—completely intact.

Zhao Min's frown eased.

For weeks, they'd been plagued with negative news: robots being misused for illegal activities, underground fights, and videos going viral online.

Finally—finally—they had a moment of positive press.

She looked at the photo for a long moment, then set the report aside.

"Contact the robot's owner. We'll repair it for free."
