"I... I..." When he pulled me out of my chair and cornered me against the wall, I didn't know what to expect.
What does he want? Don't tell me he's planning to... kiss me. I don't want that. I didn't ask for a kiss. I wasn't asking for one.
But he surprised me by pulling out a box from his pocket. "I guess this is a good moment to give you this." He opened it to reveal a stunning dark blue diamond necklace.
I swallowed, gazing at the glittering gemstone. "I know you don't fancy stuff like this," he murmured as he retrieved the necklace from its box. Then he wrapped his arms around me and fixed the necklace around my neck.
"But I'd appreciate it if you wore it from time to time." After fastening the necklace, he took a step back to admire it.
"D... does it look good on me?" I asked, blinking.
He nodded once.
"Oh..." I lowered my gaze to the floor, suddenly at a loss for words.
"I picked it up in Texas," he revealed.
