Chapter Four: Into the Maw of Oblivar

When Meera regained consciousness, she found herself lying on something strange—hard, yet oddly soft beneath her. At first, she couldn't tell what it was. The surface felt like smooth stone, but it pulsed faintly—like it was alive.

Her head throbbed. Her vision blurred. She took a few deep breaths, trying to piece together what had just happened.

Then it hit her.

The conversation.

The God of the Game.

The portal.

Oblivar.

She sat up with a jolt, the weight of reality crashing down on her.

"No second chances," she whispered. "No respawns… just death."

Anger welled up inside her. Her hands clenched into fists.

I didn't even get to ask where I'm going… or how I'm supposed to survive! And how the hell do I even use this stupid Heaven Library?!

She gritted her teeth, fury and fear boiling within her.

"What am I supposed to do?" she muttered. "Throw a book at a monster and hope it dies? What a load of bullshit…"

After a few minutes of internal chaos, Meera forced herself to look around.

The world around her was alien—cracked stone, glowing mist, and towering trees with silver leaves swaying in a strange, silent breeze. But something near her caught her eye.

She froze.

Just behind her, nestled in a pit of glowing moss, was a massive egg—nearly as tall as she was, its shell pulsing faintly with green light.

At first, she didn't understand. But then… the realization hit.

She had been lying right next to it.

Her breath caught. A cold chill ran down her spine.

I'm already in the mouth of death…

She scanned the area wildly.

If the parents of this egg return and see me near it, they might feed me to their unborn child!

I have to move. Now.

She tried to back away—but before she could, a sound echoed in the air.

A roar.

Long. Deep.

So loud, so ancient, it felt like the world itself was screaming.

It wasn't just noise—it was terror given voice.

Meera turned her head toward the source… and saw it.

From the shadows emerged a black dragon, nearly five meters long, covered in obsidian scales that shimmered like wet stone. Its blood-red eyes glowed with dark fury, burning with hunger.

Even from a distance, just seeing it made Meera feel like death had already claimed her.

But it wasn't alone.

Just a few meters away stood a massive black bear, muscles rippling, breath heavy, scars etched across its body. It didn't run. It stared back at the dragon with equal rage.

The two beasts locked eyes.

The air thickened. The forest seemed to stop moving. Even Meera felt like she couldn't breathe.

Don't panic. Don't make a sound. If either of them notices me… I'm dead before they finish each other off.

Suddenly, the dragon lunged, claws extended like spears of shadow. The bear roared and struck back with a crushing, powerful punch.

They collided mid-air.

The shockwave that followed cracked the earth. Trees bent. Rocks shattered. The entire forest shook under the force of their impact.

Both beasts were flung apart, crashing into distant cliffs.

Meera stumbled, the ground beneath her trembling.

And then—the shockwave reached her.

Her hiding place crumbled, and she fell, rolling helplessly into the center of the battlefield.

Silence.

The dragon and the bear, now recovering, turned to face her.

Their glowing eyes locked on Meera.

She froze, her whole body trembling.

Please, God. Game God. Dragon God. Anyone… help me.

She whispered desperate prayers under her breath—but nothing answered.

She looked up.

The two beasts were staring at her like she was their favorite snack.

They're afraid the other will eat me first…

"I-I'm not part of this," Meera stammered. "Mr. and Miss Monster, please continue. I'm just leaving now. Never see you soon, okay?"

She tried to step back.

But the dragon moved first.

It lunged—mouth open wide—and in a blink, it was over.

It swallowed Meera whole.

No scream.

No trace.

Just silence.
