I woke up to see I was in a space similar to the one where I met the person in charge of the system before. Except, this time, it was much different. I look around and see bookshelves that go on forever. I turn around to see that there's a dummy behind. [What brings you back here? I didn't summon you here. Are you in need of assistance?]
"I mean, if you could help me not die tomorrow, that would be lovely. Lancelot arranged for me to spar with him tomorrow, and I've seen his stats; I will not survive that fight without some help." [Ah, I understand. I will help you on one condition. You must fight to win, not to survive.]
His condition was simple, so I agreed. [Open Inventory] I'm going to take out the books Merlin gave me. "Merlin said these should help me. The problem is I can't read 3 of them. I can read this one just fine though." I waved around the book "How to Use Mana Offensively." [We will start with that one then. I can't baby you with the other books. You must decipher them on your own.]
"I didn't want your help deciphering them anyways. Now, I assume you already know the ins and outs of this book?" He nodded. [I do know everything within that book, and I am ready to teach you it.] I stood up, ready to learn. "So, what's the first step?"
[Read the book yourself to find out.] [Fireball] The fireball hit him, but there was little to no effect. [Do you want to try that again?] I shook my head in fear of what he'd do to me if I really did try again. [Now, start reading the book. We will go over the steps after you read it.]
I begrudgingly read the book. It was made to outline different uses for Mana, but the one I was mainly focused on was Mana flow and Mana application. Mana flow is best explained through an analogy. Mana is like a river. It is constantly flowing throughout your body, and to cast a spell or use a skill, you need to draw water from the river. If you can regulate the Mana flow to where it is spread evenly across your body, you can cast spells faster and more often, as well as keep continuous spells and skills active for longer with less strain on your body.
The next one is Mana application. Mana application is relatively simple by contrast to Mana flow. What you do is you take some Mana and use it almost like clay to mold around an object or weapon to strengthen it. I just had one problem that came to mind after reading all that. How do you spread an immeasurable amount of something evenly across a finite space? 1% of immeasurable is still immeasurable.
[Do you understand what you've read?] "I understand it, but I don't know how I'm supposed to do it. How can I regulate immeasurable Mana evenly across my body, a finite space?" He chuckled at my statement. [You're thinking like a 3D creature; that's so humorous. Let me ask you this. If you're thinking that much about that, how can your body hold an immeasurable amount of Mana?]
I don't to admit it, but he is right. Mana is a really difficult thing to understand. I grit my teeth. I went into a traditional meditation pose. [Your body is like a raging ocean, overflowing with Mana. You need to make your Mana like a calm belt, no waves, pure calmness.] His words definitely helped me, and I felt as if I was getting the hang of it.
I lost focus and blew up the space in front of me. [You stopped focusing; start again.] This was going to be a process. Attempt 2: I felt a shock go through my arm. Attempt 3: I drenched myself in water. Attempt 7: I flung myself 200 feet in the air. Attempt 12: Hit myself in the gut with an earth pillar. Attempt 23: I finally am getting used to it. My Mana is flowing so differently. I can feel the difference between now and before.
I could see the Mana coming off of my body. The color is exactly like my eyes. My mana is completely prismatic. I looked to the Deity, but soon felt suffocated from his overwhelming Mana. It's not just on his body. Not even just an aura. It's all around me. His Mana is everything here. [Looks like you finally got it. I can tell from your face. Yes, this realm is a construct made purely out of my Mana.]
I didn't want to admit it. I'm just weak compared to him. I'm a fly. A maggot. I'm completely insignificant to someone like him. How can he be this strong? If he's really this strong, do I even stand a chance of becoming the Monarch Deity? [Now, try to do Mana Application.] I shot my head up. That's right. He's on my side. I don't need to worry about him. When I went to pull out my sword he groaned audibly.
[Are you really carrying around an [F-Grade] weapon? Do you not have anything better?] "I was able to kill a dragon with it, wasn't I?" [An [E-Grade] Dragon. Lancelot is several infinities stronger than something like an [E-Grade] Creature. Give me just a moment.] He walked away, disappearing into the seemingly infinite shelves of books. He walked out minutes later carrying a sword in a scabbard with him.
[This isn't much, but it's better than the weapon you have already.] I took it out of his hands. [Received 1x Dragon Bane] [B-Grade] "You are giving me a [B-Grade] sword?!" [Lancelot is using an [Epic-Grade] weapon. Its name is Excalius. A replica made of the [Mythical-Grade] sword Excalibur. The King must wield it until they are worthy of wielding Excalibur.]
Lancelot is really impressive. To wield such a sword, to have to carry on a legacy. He's truly an amazing person to have that weight on his shoulders and not think about it. "If Lancelot is using an [Epic-Grade] sword, what are the Berserker Blades then?" [The Berserker Blades range between [S-Grade] to [Emerald-Grade]. Now, we must continue with your training.]
