Seventeen-year-old Joren never asked to be touched by the divine, but when a strange voice pulls him to the long-lost Supernova Portrait, his life changes forever.
Now marked as an Auspex, one of the rare and dangerous few gifted with godlike powers, Joren is thrown into a world of hunters, hidden guilds, and ancient forces awakening once again. Auspex are feared, exploited, and hunted. Some change the world, others destroy it.
With powers he barely understands and enemies already closing in, Joren must decide what kind of Auspex he will become… before the choice is taken from him.
In a world where power is both a blessing and a curse, one boy’s journey could shift the balance of fate itself.
My greatest story ever (and my only as of now). Shameless review, but I want to get more people to look at my story. Let me know what you think and what you like about it so far!
I read this story expecting a typical chosen one fantasy, but what I found instead was something more atmospheric and rich with blended genres. This isn’t a story that throws flashy powers and lore at you right away, which is breath of fresh air tbh. The early chapters introduce us to Joren, a quiet astronomy apprentice in a rural village, giving you that slice-of-life style that I just love. Later chapters bring in some adventure and battle scenes, so don't be confused about the slow start. Joren’s observant nature makes him a great lens through which to view a world of absurd creations and possibilities. I can't wait to read more about Joren's journey
This story keeps surprising me. It has that perfect blend of charm and sudden chaos—Joren accidentally yeeting a grain sack into orbit or turning a bucket spill into a mini tsunami had me wheezing. But in between the laughs, there are those soft moments too—Elira’s booth full of stardust books and old remedies, the Divinity Portraits, and that mystery guy (Tsunami??) just casually slicing booth legs like it’s no big deal. The pacing is smooth, and every chapter has something memorable without feeling forced. Definitely sticking around to see where Joren’s powers take him—and if the goat ever gets a name upgrade.
the writing quality is great a new concept entirely love the plot but I think the paragraphs are too thick...
I've just read the first chapter and so far it's really good. The concepts seem really interesting and I don't remember reading anything similar. I'm mainly curious about what's going to happen since the synopsis says that his powers are "godlike" Looking forward to reading the next chapters.
I really enjoy the series so far, it has a lot of cool concepts and I enjoy that Joren has to use his head to give him an edge rather than scale up his power like crazy. I have to say Gus is my favorite character so far, I can't wait to see what his porcelain tour is like.
