At Marine Headquarters, nearly all officers and soldiers had gathered, standing in neat rows at the port. Their expressions were fervent as they awaited the return of their Fleet Admiral.
As the massive warship slowly docked at the port, the assembled officers simultaneously stepped forward, their eyes fixed on the confident figure of the young leader standing at the bow of the ship.
Then, in unison, they raised their hands in salute and shouted, "All officers and soldiers of Marine Headquarters, salute the Fleet Admiral!"
Following the officers' lead, the rows of soldiers lined up behind them, stretching all the way from the port to Marineford Square, also raised their hands in salute and echoed:
"Loyalty!"
"Loyalty!"
"Loyalty!"
The three thunderous cries reverberated across Marineford like a sudden storm, marking a long-awaited moment of glory for the Marines.
Standing at the bow of the warship, Xayuki looked down at the neatly arranged officers and the sea of soldiers whose fervent expressions followed their chants. A smile unknowingly spread across his face as he declared with passion, "Ladies and gentlemen, the moment of Marine glory has finally arrived!"
At these words, Xayuki turned his head to look at Strawberry, Bastille, the three admirals, and Gion, who were standing beside him.
As if understanding Xayuki's intentions, Strawberry and Bastille quickly stepped forward, standing shoulder to shoulder with him.
Before they could react, Xayuki reached out and took Strawberry's hand.
Gion immediately grasped the situation. Without hesitation, she confidently stepped forward, took Xayuki's other hand, and turned to look at the three admirals.
Though the admirals understood what Xayuki wanted to do, they hesitated briefly, feeling slightly awkward due to their age.
But soon, Sakazuki decisively took action, grabbing Borsalino's hand with one and Gion's with the other.
Borsalino, though visibly flustered, extended his hand to Kuzan.
In an instant, the group stood hand in hand. Without missing a beat, Xayuki stepped forward with Gion and Strawberry, his voice booming across Marineford, "This glory belongs to every officer and soldier present here, to every comrade who sacrificed themselves for Justice, and to the entire Marine Corps!"
"Long live the heroic Marines!"
Though Xayuki's voice was not particularly loud, each word resonated clearly across Marineford, inspiring the officers and soldiers present. Their fervent expressions intensified as they shouted slogans in unison.
The resounding chants echoed across Marineford, wave after wave, eventually merging into a powerful tide that surged outward in all directions.
Across the Four Seas and the Grand Line, the commanding officers of various Marine branches, upon learning of the Marijoa Treaty, joined in the fervor. Though they were far from Marine Headquarters, the chants of "Loyalty" still rang out, shaking the world.
Thus, the mutiny led by Xayuki, which culminated in his complete takeover of the Marines and the signing of the Marijoa Treaty with the Holy Land, came to an end. A new era was officially ushered in.
Future historians would name this event the "Spring of Marineford."
The era itself would be known as the "Marine Glory Era."
The Next Day.
Details of the Marijoa Treaty were disseminated worldwide through newspapers printed by major news agencies.
Meanwhile, the Marine Headquarters' press department released its own publication. However, the front page did not mention the contents of the treaty. Instead, it featured a photograph that shocked the world.
Occupying most of the front page was a group photo of everyone at Marine Headquarters, from the Fleet Admiral to the ordinary soldiers.
In the photo, the young Fleet Admiral sat in the center, flanked by the three admirals—Sakazuki, Borsalino, and Kuzan—on his right, casually crossing their legs. On his left sat former Fleet Admiral Sengoku, Vice Admiral Garp, and former admiral Zephyr.
Standing behind the Fleet Admiral were all the vice admirals, rear admirals, commodores, and other officers, led by Gion.
What made this photo occupy such a large portion of the front page was the massive number of Marine soldiers standing in a fan-shaped formation behind the officers. Some held swords, others raised their guns to the sky, while some crossed their arms over their chests.
Despite the varied poses, every face in the photo bore the unmistakable smile of a victor.
Below the photo was a dense list of names.
At the top, occupying an entire line by itself, was the name of Xayuki, the youngest Fleet Admiral in Marine Headquarters' history.
Following him were the names of Sengoku and the other senior officers, as well as the three admirals.
After that came the names of all the vice admirals at Marine Headquarters, followed by the vice admirals of various Marine branches, with not a single name omitted.
Everyone who saw this newspaper for the first time, whether they were lawless pirates on the seas or members of the Four Emperors in the New World, was stunned by the photo's overwhelming impact.
Even Edward Newgate (Whitebeard), Charlotte Linlin (Big Mom), and Kaido, who had lived through the old era, were deeply shaken. For the first time in their lives, they were witnessing a Fleet Admiral with such terrifying cohesion and leadership.
Compared to Xayuki, past Fleet Admirals, whether it was the tactician Sengoku or the former Fleet Admiral Kong, appeared formidable but ultimately lacked substance.
Under Sengoku's leadership, the three admirals seemed harmonious on the surface but were actually divided. Kuzan and Sakazuki held opposing ideologies, and anyone familiar with the Marines knew the two often clashed. As for Borsalino, known as "Kizaru," his ambiguous and unpredictable nature left people wondering where his loyalties truly lay.
This division among the admirals, combined with the World Government's deliberate balance of power through the Seven Warlords of the Sea, rendered the Marines incapable of functioning as the powerful war machine they were meant to be.
Had the Marines been united under Sengoku, even with just two admirals working together, the emergence of the Four Emperors in the New World would have been virtually impossible.
But all of that was now history.
With the publication of the Marine Headquarters group photo, the old era of the Marines faded into the annals of history. Under the leadership of Xayuki, this new Marine Corps was destined to become the nightmare of all pirates.
Sabaody Archipelago, District 13.
At the docks, Silvers Rayleigh sat alongside several coating workers, having just finished coating a ship. Holding the Marine Headquarters newspaper in his hands, he stared at the young Fleet Admiral seated in the center of the photo, deep in thought.
After the dissolution of the Roger Pirates, Rayleigh, along with Scopper Gaban and Crocus, had gone into hiding in Sabaody Archipelago, Elbaf, and Twin Capes, respectively.
Though they were in hiding, their true purpose was to await the arrival of the individual Roger had foreseen—a member of the D Clan with unparalleled strength, resolve, and charisma.
There was no doubt that the young Fleet Admiral in the photo possessed immense strength and unparalleled charisma. The only thing preventing him from being the one Roger had anticipated was the absence of a "D" in his name.
But that no longer mattered. The seas were destined to tremble under the might of this unified and powerful Marine Corps.
Xayuki would undoubtedly become the brightest star of this era.
