Nine Snakes City, Amazon Lily Kingdom Palace.
The Empress's Chambers.
The current Empress of Amazon Lily, Boa Hancock, lay quietly in the bathtub. Her long, jet-black hair, styled in a hime cut, cascaded over the edge of the tub like a waterfall. Her deep blue almond-shaped eyes stared unblinkingly at the ceiling, her gaze cold and indifferent. Her delicate, flawless face bore an expression of icy aloofness that kept strangers at bay.
Boa Hancock.
A Paramecia-type Devil Fruit user, the wielder of the Love-Love Fruit, and a master of Conqueror's Haki, Observation Haki, and Armament Haki.
At the age of eighteen, she ascended to the throne as the Empress of Amazon Lily. Leading the Kuja Pirates on their maiden voyage, her overwhelming strength caught the attention of the World Government, and she was soon summoned to join the Seven Warlords of the Sea. A perfect example of "debuting at the peak."
At this moment, the area surrounding the Empress's chambers was under strict lockdown. Not even a bird could fly past without being immediately shot down.
The reason was simple: the Empress of Amazon Lily was bathing. Apart from her two younger sisters, no one was allowed to approach her chambers.
Of course, Hancock wasn't concerned about being seen while bathing—after all, Amazon Lily was a kingdom of women.
The real reason for the lockdown during her baths was a secret shared by the three Boa sisters, one that could never be revealed to outsiders.
Suddenly—
"Granny Za! Granny Za!"
"You can't go in! Big Sister is bathing!"
Outside the chamber doors, Granny Za, clutching a stack of newspapers, was stopped by two women standing guard. They were none other than Hancock's two younger sisters, Boa Sandersonia and Boa Marigold.
Unlike Hancock, who possessed unparalleled beauty and was hailed as the most beautiful woman in the world, Sandersonia and Marigold had rather peculiar appearances. Sandersonia had a head disproportionately large for her body, while Marigold was short and plump.
"Move aside! This is urgent!"
Ignoring the sisters' protests, Granny Za used her frail yet agile body to slip past them.
The moment she pushed open the doors and entered the chamber, Granny Za shouted at the top of her lungs, "Hancock! Hancock, come out!"
Before Hancock, who was in the bathroom, could respond, Granny Za pulled back the curtain and rushed to the bathtub, her tone urgent. "How can you still be bathing when the world outside has turned upside down?!"
Sandersonia, who had followed her in, quickly approached, her expression serious. "Granny Za, what's happened outside?"
"See for yourself!"
Granny Za tossed the newspaper to Sandersonia.
Taking the newspaper, Sandersonia glanced at it with a puzzled expression before admitting awkwardly, "I can't read all the characters. Big Sister should take a look."
Taking advantage of their conversation, Hancock stood up from the bathtub and draped a robe over herself. Silently, she took the newspaper.
Her cold and indifferent expression shifted dramatically the moment she saw the headline.
"Big Sister…"
Seeing Hancock's reaction, Sandersonia and Marigold called out tentatively.
Hancock said nothing. After quickly reading the first newspaper, she snatched the entire stack from Granny Za's hands.
By the time she finished reading all of them, Hancock struggled to suppress the shock in her heart. She looked at Granny Za in disbelief. "He took complete control of the Marines in just one day? And even signed the Marijoa Treaty with the Holy Land? How have I never heard of this man before?"
Saying this, she unfolded one of the newspapers again. Her gaze lingered on the group photo that occupied most of the page, focusing on the confident young Fleet Admiral seated prominently in the center. Her breathing quickened slightly as she asked excitedly, "Granny Za, does the Marijoa Treaty really state that the Marines now have the authority to arrest Celestial Dragons who violate justice?"
Granny Za nodded. "That's what the newspaper says!"
Hancock's breathing grew even more rapid. She asked uncertainly, "Does the Marijoa Treaty also mention that the authority to summon the Seven Warlords has been transferred to Marine Headquarters?"
Before she could finish her sentence, Hancock suddenly turned around, as if possessed. She exclaimed, "I must meet this new Fleet Admiral immediately!"
"Big Sister! Big Sister!"
Sandersonia and Marigold were taken aback by Hancock's reaction. They quickly reminded her, "You... you haven't even changed yet!"
Granny Za also chimed in. "Hancock! There's no need to rush. This young Fleet Admiral with his decisive methods will undoubtedly issue a summons to the Seven Warlords. What you should be concerned about now is not meeting him, but whether you can retain your status as a Warlord! Don't forget why you joined the Seven Warlords in the first place!"
Hearing this, Hancock froze.
Years ago, she had accepted the World Government's invitation to join the Seven Warlords purely to protect Amazon Lily from external threats. Personally, she harbored no goodwill toward the World Government—especially the so-called Celestial Dragons they supported.
In fact, she despised them.
As a child, she and her two sisters had been kidnapped by slavers and sold to the Celestial Dragons, who left the shameful Hoof of the Celestial Dragon slave mark on their backs.
Even so, as the Empress of Amazon Lily, she had been forced to set aside her hatred and become a Warlord to protect her people. Most importantly, she had never dared to seek revenge against the Celestial Dragons, given the overwhelming power of the World Government.
But now, the authority to summon the Seven Warlords had shifted from the World Government to Marine Headquarters, thanks to that man's coup. As a Warlord, she felt compelled to meet her "new superior."
Of course, there was another, albeit minor, reason.
What truly made her eager to meet him was the fact that, in a world filled with powerful individuals, neither the Emperors of the Sea who ruled the New World, nor the Revolutionary Army that spread like wildfire, dared to challenge the Celestial Dragons.
Yet this new Fleet Admiral, Xayuki, not only changed the Marines' approach but also forced the Holy Land's Chamber of Authority to make concessions, granting the Marines the right to arrest Celestial Dragons who violated justice!
This was something unimaginable in any previous era, yet it had now become reality.
Despite her traumatic past, which had made her deeply averse to men, she found herself yearning to meet this man who dared to stage a coup and force the World Government to compromise.
As for what she would say when they met, she hadn't thought that far ahead. She simply wanted to see him.
"Empress!"
Suddenly, a somewhat panicked voice came from outside the chamber.
"Marine Vice Admiral Momonga, carrying a Seven Warlords summons, has crossed the Calm Belt with a warship. He requests that the Empress attend the Seven Warlords meeting convened by the new Fleet Admiral in three days..."
Before the person outside could finish, Hancock interrupted.
"I shall go change immediately."
