Chapter 50 – Soaring Into Destiny

The sky was painted in hues of fire and violet as Qingsai approached Ruisu, his crimson-scaled dragon companion, coiled majestically at the cliff near Whispering Hollow.

He carried nothing but a traveler's pack, his Soulkindled relic, and a satchel of food.

But as he reached for the saddle, a voice called out:

> "Took you long enough," said Fengrui Yuwen, already seated on Ruisu's back.

Qingsai blinked. "You knew?"

Yuwen shrugged. "I may be short, but I'm not blind. You were suffocating. Besides, I always wanted to see the world. Might as well do it with a dragon and a demigod."

Qingsai smiled, warmth breaking through the grief.

> "You sure about this?"

Yuwen smirked. "Soulkindled, you're about to meet flame priests, sky monks, shadow clans, and ocean kings. You'll need someone to keep you humble."

With a nod, Qingsai climbed aboard.

Ruisu roared as he unfurled his mighty wings, and with a leap, they soared into the sky—over the forests, past the glimmering lakes, and into the cloud-bound horizon.

Below them, the capital of Orilan shrank.

Ahead, the distant continent of Furnastru, the land of fire, waited.

And somewhere far beyond, ancient enemies stirred… and the truth of the first Soulkindled awaited.
