A smile spread across my face as I reread Damien Sterling's confirmation text. He'd accepted my dinner invitation. I should've been worrying about the mountain of debt I owed him, but all I felt was a flutter of anticipation.


"Someone looks happy," Cherry remarked, poking her head into my office.


I quickly set my phone down. "Just finalizing dinner plans with Mr. Sterling to discuss repayment terms."


"Right. 'Repayment terms.' Is that what they're calling it these days?" She wiggled her eyebrows suggestively.


"Very professional, Cherry," I said, fighting a smile. "Don't you have work to do?"


She laughed, backing out of my office. "I'll leave you to your daydreaming about tall, dark, and impossibly wealthy."
