Chapter 103

Chapter 103 - A Rival's Taunt, An Alpha's Rage

I felt Kaelen before I saw him. His rage radiated in waves, making the air around us thick and suffocating. Alpha Vorlag's lips were still too close to my ear, his breath warm against my skin, making my stomach turn.

"Get your hands off her." Kaelen's voice was eerily calm—the kind of calm that comes before a devastating storm.

Vorlag smiled against my skin before pulling back slightly, though he kept me pinned against the car. "Sterling. How nice of you to join us. Your sister and I were just getting acquainted."

Kaelen stood ten feet away, his body rigid with tension. I'd never seen his eyes so dark—almost black with fury. His hands were clenched into fists at his sides, knuckles white.

"Seraphina." My name sounded like both a command and a plea on his lips. "Come here. Now."

I tried to move, but Vorlag's grip tightened on my arm. "She seems comfortable where she is," he said, his voice laced with mock innocence.
