"Sterling, what have you done?"  I whispered, my voice trembling.  "He was just asking for help!"

My stepbrother's eyes, usually a deep emerald green, now glowed with predatory amber as he shifted partially back from his wolf form.  His breathing was heavy, primal.

"He was too close to you, Aurora.  His scent was all over you."  Sterling's voice was eerily calm as he wiped blood from his hands onto his dark jeans.  "No man approaches what's mine."

Mine.  That word made my skin crawl.  I wasn't his.  I was his stepsister, not his possession.

Chapter 14 - The Alpha's Secret Lair Unveiled


I froze in the doorway of Sterling's bedroom, my entire body going rigid with shock. The large computer monitor on his desk glowed in the dim light, displaying multiple camera angles of my bedroom. Me, sitting on my bed, reading. Me, changing clothes. Me, sleeping.


"Oh my god," I whispered, my legs threatening to give out beneath me.


I'd only come to his room to borrow a phone charger. My own had frayed, and with Sterling at a pack meeting, I thought it would be safe to slip in and out undetected. The door had been ajar, which I took as an invitation of sorts.


Now I understood why he always kept it locked.


My trembling fingers reached for the keyboard, clicking through folder after folder of videos. All of me. Labeled by date. Going back months. Years.


"This can't be happening," I choked out, bile rising in my throat.
