Guilt swallowed me whole as I lay in bed, staring at the ceiling. Kaelen's words from last night echoed in my head: "The moment another man dares to touch you... I'll rip him apart."
My body still ached pleasantly from our encounter, a constant reminder of what we'd done. What I'd allowed to happen. What part of me had desperately wanted.
I rolled over, burying my face in the pillow. It smelled like him—that intoxicating mix of expensive cologne and something uniquely Kaelen. When had his scent become so comforting? So necessary?
"This is wrong," I whispered to myself, but the conviction in my voice was fading with each passing day.
