"You're a disappointment, Lucian. Do you understand that?" My father's voice boomed through his office.
I stood there, jaw clenched, refusing to flinch under his glare. The tension in the room was suffocating.
"A future Alpha needs stability. Control. A suitable mate. You have none of those things!"
"Damien, please." My mother, Luna Cassandra, placed her hand on his arm. "Yelling won't solve anything."
I laughed bitterly. "Listen to Mother. Yelling just makes you look weak."
My father's eyes flashed dangerously. "Watch your tongue, boy."
"Or what?" I challenged, taking a step forward. "You'll punish me? Take away my allowance? News flash, Father—I'm not a child anymore."
"Then stop acting like one!" He slammed his fist on the desk, making my mother jump. "No responsibility, no commitment, just parties and... and girls!"
